Magic card trick
2004-05-27, 7:26 PM #1
A friend at school showed me this trick which i have no idea how its done.. i store at his hands to make sure he dint switch the cards or anything as well but..

he spreads out the deck of cards and asks you to find the joker for example, then you pull out any card then give it to him and then he asks you to find another card then you give it to him. then he finds the final card that he says, and magicly the 2 cards that you chose and the card that he chose was the 2 cards he asked you to find and the card he found....

if that makes any sense anyone know how to do it?

My first thought was that you were talking about Magic the Gathering.

I know that trick, but a magician never reveals his tricks...But it's just simple deck-rigging. Ask him to let you shuffle the deck before the trick [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

That's easy to fix too if the deck is marked, you simply finger each card making small adjustments to them after you've already spread them out. People will generally go for the ones that are most hidden or one hidden (hard to pull out) and the other easy to pull out. There's also other ways. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

heh, hes not picking them in the same order. What hes doing is chosing his card as the card that you just showed.

Maybe it's magic.

I mean, it could have been great. Maybe he could have been sharing some awesome new exploit or card combo or something. Wizards of the Coast is due for a shakeup like the Urza block.

Assuming you didn't look at the cards you chose and gave them straight to him:

He glances at either the top or bottom card, or any card which he can identify later.

Eg. The top card is Ace of Clubs.
He then asks you to pick out the Ace of clubs
You pull out a random card - maybe its the 6 of clubs.
He then asks you to pull out the 6 of clubs.
You then pull out another card - the 7 of diamonds maybe. He then says he'll pick out another card which will be the 7 of diamonds. At this point he picks up his card which he identified earlier, in this example the Ace of Clubs from the top of the pack.

He then ends up with all 3 cards but in a different order. I think thats right at least... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I can force a card (badly), but my friend Matt is in the magic circle and is very cool. He puts in shows at uni - at the last one for comedy value (I met him through our improvised comedy society) he made an egg "dissapear" with the aid of a blender - and then had a fight with a rubber chicken (it's mum). He referred to the egg as "my lovely assistant Mandy" all the way through. It sounds childish but it was damn funny...

Aw, someone told the trick before me. I always use that trick to fool as many people as humanly possible. The first time I saw it done, I knew EXACTLY how it was done. Yeah, I've always been into magic card tricks, so I try to think outside of the box when watching one. There's only one on-stage performance I've never been able to figure out how they do, and it was done by this no-name guy in my area.

I'm sad that after they made 8th edition go back to being mostly normal MTG they went on with the crappy expansions. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]
