I'm bored out of my mind and would like something to keep me occupied, preferrably a console game because my computer is having issues. It can be on any console (past and present). RPGs are good. Lots of suggestions are good.

Games I've enjoyed:

Gamecube
Resident Evil 4
Zelda: Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Paper Mario
Eternal Darkness

PS1/2
Final Fantasy 7-10
Kingdom Hearts
Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal

Xbox
Jade Empire
KOTOR
Halo 2

GBA
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Advance Wars

PC (currently sucking because my graphics card has died)
Deus Ex
Planescape: Torment
Half-Life 2
Battlefield 2

Shadow of the Collosus, ICO, X-Men Legends 2.

Games cost money. Why ruin one by eating it?
I had a blog. It sucked.

If you're bored, why not just go outside, meet some people, and get away from video games for awhile? (People are probably going to stone me to death over this :p )

You missed the part where he wanted Console games, not PC games. Otherwise I would've heartily reccommended Quake 4.

Deu-... Damnit.

Baldur's Gate 1 / 2 (Don't forget the expansions!)

Final Fantasy Tactics (Do it.)

Rag Doll Kung Fu (I like it, at least...)

Play through Deus Ex again. (It never gets old, I swear.)

Now, away from the obvious ones and into the 'real' answers:

Tekken 5

Wait for Kingdom Hearts 2

Dragon Warrior 7 / wait for 8

Lunar: Silver Star Story / Eternal Blue

Mega Man Legends

Or you can just play Deus Ex again, like any sane person would do.

Glyde, I seriously don't know why you hate Deus Ex so much. It was a great game. Just give it a chance, alright?

The most obvious suggestion I could make would be to look up the sequels to the games you've enjoyed, such as Advance Wars 2 or KotOR 2. I'd make better suggestions but I've really only been playing PC games lately, and not any recent console titles. Maybe you could try going to a rental place and just trying any out that catch your eye?

I missed that part before I read your post. I was expecting to see Quake 4 in big red letters.

For a good "WTF" game, I recommend Katamari Damacy or We Love Katamari. I'm sooo addicted to those right now. >_<

I don't like Real Life.

Final Fantasy Tactics (Do it.)
I heard the game was hard as hell. Are there games similar to it to wet my taste first?

Oh yeah, I've played that. Forgot about it.
Shadow of the Collosus
Sounds pretty good, if a bit expensive since it's brand new.

YES.

I can't believe I forgot those. GET THEM BOTH NOW.

About Final Fantasy Tactics:

For an easier game to wet your tastes, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. However, that's probably too easy. Tactics original isn't that hard after a little bit. You just need to go through the tutorial instead of jumping right in, and maybe having a map for the jobs layed out next to you or something. The story and ability system are amazing in the game, as well as the 'comedy' value. If you look past the graphics and use your imagination, you laugh at the fact your White Mage countered someone with his staff and it was a critical hit, knocking them off the side of a cliff and killing them.

I'm currently playing it through again, with my main character being a monk who ignores hieght. IE: He jumps. Very high.

Prince of Persia: SOT
And/or
Prince of Persia: warrior Within.

first one is shorter and classier/more quality/more fun

Second one is longer and more kick-arse fighting/dirtier, more dark, not QUITE as fun as the first one. Nonetheless, very fun.

And to be stupid...
FEAR.

Get a PC working.
And get FEAR.

[Totally misread what was just going on :o]

For some reason I read 'Tactics' and the letter 'F' and combined them into Fallout: Tactics. But yeah, I'm playing that right now and I still love it after all these years. So I'm throwing in this suggestion even though you're avoiding PC games :p
2005-10-23, 4:30 PM #21
Another game to wet your taste on the genre is Soldiers At War and XCom, but those are both really old PC games, the later having a lot more than combat to do. (Dosen't make it any less fun. Just about 100x more hard than FFT...)

No you didn't, Livid :D I SAW YOUR POST AND AM NOW ADDING IT TO MINE.

"I've never heard that myself, but it really isn't any harder than your average game. Difficulty levels and the combat system can all be changed until you find something to suit, the tutorials show you the basics, and there's a nice curve to the game. Fallout: Tactics is really, really awesome (currently playing it myself)" (When quoted Knobz about FFT)

Next game I'm buying is Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for PC. Should be released on November 1st.

Therefore, I will be going to buy EpIII on DVD that day, and SWBF2 as well.

What a day!

Three words: Soul Calibur 3 (You'll have to wait till comes out though, which should be the next couple of days).
No sig.

You might want to wait, actually. Lost Coast is coming out soon. Although it isn't a new game, it will at least temporarily satisfy your cravings.
