Let's see. I got a new (See: Very old) Computer and hooked it up to a switchy thing so I can play old games while I wait for stuff to load on this mean machine. Anywho, began to install Baldur's Gate, but it froze. No biggy, I tell myself. I restart, and *delete the baldur's gate folder like a retard*. Now it thinks it's still installed and I can't try again.

Long story short, how would I reformat this thing on Windows 98 SE?

Can't you just erase the Baldur's Gate registry entry? Reformatting seems pretty drastic.

Baldur's gate was the only other thing on it :P

I looked in regedit and deleted the only thing about Baldur's Gate, and it didn't work.

Said that Format was a bad command or file name. :| Says the same for deltree C:\

Scratch that, I can reformat after reinstalling the operating system. Thanks guys :P

Score! Baldur's Gate rules and still does. And as kyle90 and many of #massassi knows, a picture of Imoen from BGII is my first photoshop project!

Compare the original with this and tell me what you think of what I have done so far. Somewhere hidden in your post about Glyde's problem. >.>

w00t!

(gonna take me a few weeks I think to complete it, though. :( )

Uhhh...

Why are you going to reformat? You don't even need to reinstall the OS, much less reformat!

And why would you reformat AFTER reinstalling the OS? That's just... ugh.

Here, get this tool: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Regmon.html

Then open it up, go to filters, and specify the name of the setup program.

Run it and see what registry keys it opens right before the installer tells you it's already installed.

Specifically it's probably HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\<COMPANY NAME>\Baldur's Gate or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\<COMPANY NAME>\Baldur's Gate or possibly a key in Software\Microsoft\Windows\Uninstall or whatever it's called.

Looks like all you did was use smudge tool all over. Clone tool would be much better for such a job.

Zzter, it's too late, and for some reason reinstalling the OS made 'format' a valid comand.

Nope. I used pick color and airbrush. And a thing called convolve. :)

But thanks for telling me about the clone tool. Now all I gotta do is figure out how to use it. :\

Yes I did. It wouldn't copy your smiley from MSN so I had to replace it with the equivalent Massassi one.
