so my friend laura... in class a few days ago.. said that her father works for activision.

i immediately flipped out.

last night i linked her to my portfolio and most especially the current progress on the chateau level and asked her to show her dad.

aaaaannnndddd..

he loved it. he's going to try to get me an internship at activision this summer.

YAY.

im sorry if this seems gloat-ful.. im just insanely excited.

I won a GeForce 7800GT in a pathetically easy UT2004 Invasion tournament. There were maybe 10 or 12 other people playing. They all kind of sucked. I'm not even that good anymore - I had to install the game to play!

On a side note game devs are a two faced beast, they can be really cool or make you (their intern) their total *****.

I had some good times playing CoD on the office LAN though (AFTER HOURS).

That's awesome, Cazor. I hope you get the internship and make full use of it.

And of course, if you have any slight chance at the smallest amount of input into the development of a potential next JK game (although it's Raven in control, not necessarily Activision), don't forget the teachings of Massassi! Don't let 'em screw it up!

Yeah, it was the quarterly EGS LAN. They're not bad. This one was kind of meh, only maybe 15 people showed up. Last years were better.

You should check out the RITFest LAN party this weekend, it's run by ITSO, and is run VERY well. So far they have 66/66 people signed up. These are 66 people that are garunteed seats because they have already payed. Which means high attendance. You really should check it out...you can still sign up, you're just not garunteed a seat. You'll have to pay at the door.

During my armchair archeology moments (ie, watching Time Team), I've always wondered about the people on digs. They seem to have dozens of helpers, are they all students or can random people volunteer too? I wouldn't mind a day of getting my hands dirty!
