If it were an HBO series I wouldn't mind it - since nothing would be toned down.

I'm thinking this will go the way of the Clerks live action and animated TV shows. Sin City doesn't seem like it would transfer well into television.

I thought Sin City was an assy movie.

I know people are going to hate me for that.
I bet you think that's funny, don't you.

i think if it were animated it could kick ***.

that's not good.

I think animated would end up being even worse again. It's going to be toned down as is to be a series, as a cartoon it would slide even further. I know a cartoon doesn't necassarily have to be child orientated, but with very few exceptions that;s the way it goes.
Now if it were an anime perhaps...

The Spawn Cartoon was quite graphic. I'm not in the US but IIRC it was aired on HBO. Tha spawn cartoon was actually better than the movie!

It'll fall flat on it's face.

Don't get me wrong, I think if done correctly it could be fairly good. But Sin City has a relatively small fanbase, and I just don't think it could pull the numbers to stay on the air very long. Which takes me back to the animated Clerks analogy. It wasn't cancelled after two episodes because it was a bad show, it was a hell of a lot better than most of the other "prime time" animation being spewed out in the wake of South Park. But it was a show based on an independant film that very few people, even in the target audience, had seen. And the rest, as they say, is history. I really do hope this turns out to be a success, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Clerks was also cancelled because they showed only 2 episodes. The 2nd and the forth. And the 2nd had all of its jokes based entirely off the first episode. (Joke about flashbacks in cartoons)
