I went to the store yesterday and the guy behind the counter wouldn't sell me the DVD, although he said that they have it in the store.
Usually I can get my DVDs a few days before release...

Stores get the DVDs between Wednesday and Friday, so they're prepped and ready in time for release on Tuesday. All major vendors have early release hotlines and competitors keep an eye on each other - if someone releases a movie early, they call the producer (in this case, Fox) and then the retailer is either fined, loses the right to carry movies from that company or get their pants sued off.

If you give out movies early you will get fired. Yes, someone who gives out movies early is, somehow, too retarded to work in a video store. There are even some high profile releases that even store employees aren't allowed to take home early and in those cases if they give it out early the individual employee will be sued for damages.

I know, but you can't blame a man for trying. Today the guy told me that even if I gave him 5,000 € he wouldn't sell me the DVD because he'd probably be fined with 2 billion €...

Gold. being hidden is the most integral part of an Easter Egg, so yes, it is hidden. There'll probably be thousands of sites that show you how to find it in a few days.

Just play the dvd, go on the slider bar and skip ahead and behind to the starts/ends of the dvds. It'll be in there somewhere. They can't exactly slot it into the middle can they?
