What's the big deal with the Episode 3 DVD? It's not like you haven't seen the movie 5 times in the theaters. I don't get this excitement.

In other news, I just ordered it from Amazon. :p

Amazing, got it the next day it was released (as in today). Wootz. Nice stuff, but the deleted scenes are totally crap. And I remember Shaak Ti being reported to be decapitated and what else by Anakin. Now that would have been a cool deleted scene.

Wild guess here; but maybe all the excitement is because it's a Star Wars movie, and this is a Star Wars forum :p

I am waiting for the special edition of the prequel box set, where TPM doesn't suck.

Making TPM not suck sounds like a daunting proposition.

Anyone remember "The Phantom Edit" that was floating around a while back? It was TPM, except with all the crappy stuff edited out. Apparently it wasn't half bad.

It was also 5 minutes long.

Oohhhh, 6 deleted scenes! Not only were there just six, but they were awful. Maybe the LOTR spoiled me, but I mean there are DVD's out there with a solid 30 minutes of deleted scenes. This couldn't have been it, it just couldn't have. Anyways, the documentary was decent, I liked the style of "The Beginning" from Episode I better. They should have made that part of each of the films, much like LOTR. I'm sorry If I keep on harping about LOTR, but those DVD's are golden, flawless. When you've tasted the sweet nectar it's hard to go to something else. That said, ROTS is a great movie, has better extras than ATOC, so it gets the thumbs up.

All the other prequel dvds only have about 6 mostly-boring deleted scenes. I wasn't expecting anything new to happen this time, but I was surprised about the scene with Shaak Ti.

And it is an impossibility to make TPM not suck. Beyond help.

Thanks, but no thanks. I saw it once... it was mediocre to me.

Now if you replaced Episode 3 with Serenity..... That'd be a different story. And 4 would come before 3. In fact, I'm pretty sure 4 would have to loop several times before 3.

I saw it earlier on Collegehumor.com

And I also refuse to buy any of the prequels. Like The Matrix, I'm pretending the newer movies didn't exist...>_> after seeing it a million times in the theater that is.

TPM > AotC and quite possibly RotS. I'll rent it to refresh my memory.

The only thing I hate about TPM is the crappy Yoda puppet, but I hear they're replacing that with a CG Yoda, so that should fix that.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go back to playing Battlehoth II.

I was praying that "SPECIAL EDITION" would maybe make a difference, but I acknowledge that TPM cannot be saved.

They'd have to recast Anakin and rewrite substantial portions of the script. E.g. "Now this is what I call pod racing!"

The only redeeming feature of the movie is the last saber battle which is by far the best in the entire series.

Yes, essentially 1:40 of boredom for 20 minutes of coolness.

Btw, when I put my DVD in my computer, it comes up and says I'm watching "Charlotte_Disk 1"!! What the heck is up with that??!!

And the slaughter of the Jedis, but besides that, yeah, nothing spectacular.

I thought the opening battle had some good moments. The way the movie opened was also cool.

I was referring to TPM. But "nothing spectacular" sums up Episode 3 pretty well.
