How was your memorial day? Mine was utter bulls***.
Let me explain why.

About a month ago, I posted about having my wisdom teeth taken out. That time, I went in there, but only the top ones were taken out. (I don't know why, probably b/c it was close to exams or something like that and it would take too long to heal)

Today, I went back to have the lower ones extracted. The first time was bad enough, but the pain was nothing compared to what I'm getting now, even with all the meds that I'm taking for it. The reason (by looking at my sexy skull x-ray ) was that the uppers were more or less through the bony layer and could be easily extracted with only a little digging.

The lower ones were still in bone, and they were more or less sideways. The bone had to be removed and them the teeth had to be yanked that way.


It took me about 2 days (counting op day) to eat solid food again the first time, but this time may be worse b/c more has to heal. My holes are sewn shut, and the doc said that it should last until it heals over, so I'm thankful for small favors.

It's been bleeding off and on all day, so i've kind of developed a taste for my own blood. What a s***ty day.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out over Spring Break and... I was singing and playing guitar that same night and stopped taking medication the next day. The thing that bothered me the most about having my wisdom teeth taken out were the stitches.

Yeah, wisdom tooth extraction sucks. I got mine taken out during spring break a few years ago. All of them were impacted, the bottom ones were coming in completely horizontal, and I had an extra one that was insanely far up in my jaw. It wasn't fun, but it's far from the end of the world. Definitely not worth whining over.

On target however. I got my wisdom teeth out.. hm. Sometime over a year ago i believe. Last thing i remember was a dentist telling me [Asterisk, historical event] as he was giving the anaesthaesia that "it should take about 15 minutes for this to start taking eff--"

Then something like three, four perhaps days where i was basically in hibernation from the painkillers they prescribed [which apparently for most people, well, just numb the pain more or less], no food that i recall aside from nutritious and delicious recycled haemoglobiny nourishment that i absorbed during my torpor.

Leading me to two conclusions, or more accurately further support of already existing postulates:
1: People apparently rather overestimate my mass sometimes.
and
2: I have a dodgy bio-chemical system. Like most over-the-counter painkillers do absolutely nothing for me for instance. Then the whole x-men-freakish-BHT-tasting-thing, and i'm sure i could think of other examples, but as someone wise once said: i can't be arsed right now.

I had my upper and lower wisdom teeth out in January. That was FUN. Took me about two weeks to get back to normal feeding. Plus, they gave me some Vicodin. Love that stuff. Pop a pill and I could've been hit by a semi and never felt it.

As for the blood, I wouldn't swallow it. Swallowing blood has a tendency to upset the stomach. Though usually its only if there's a lot of it. Spit it out if you can.

I remember getting my wisdom teeth out. It didn't actually hurt that much, as long as I didn't move my jaw. But I had to survive on applesauce for a couple of days. And the one day I woke up, went on the internet, and it was like "Oh goody, the space shuttle exploded. What a nice way to start the second day without your wisdom teeth."

Yah, those couple of days really sucked.
