So I'm watching The Aviator...

...and I'm thinking, am I the only one who finds the movie's atmosphere a bit out of the ordinary? At least in the beginning of the movie. Everyone's all hyper, it moves really fast and the camera angles are sometimes a bit unconventional.

This doesn't affect my enjoyment of the movie, I was just wondering if anyone else sees this. Maybe it's just the difference between Black Rain that I was watching before and The Aviator, the difference being in quality.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Well, because that movie is so damned long, you should be just about finished it by now. I thought it was a really weird movie, but it had cool planes in it. That redeemed it, even though that one crazy dude almost just ruined it for me.

It was a good movie in terms of acting (especially for Blanchett) but it was really too long. I liked how throughout the movie they used different types of technicolor (digitally done of course.) The beginning of the movie is two-strip technicolor and then it finally gets into three-strip technicolor.

Christopher Nolan was working on a script for the Aviator before this was made, and I would have liked to see what he might have made, since he considered it his best writing to date.
