Tornadoes galore in Middle U.S.A....

CNN.com finally reports something worth noting.

Apparently 92 tornadoes touched down yesterday, and already 91 touched down today. I hope no one is getting hurt down there...

Hehe. I love living in the UK, where about all we get is infrequent weather. And rain.

I live in Louisville KY and the camera they have set up to look at downtown caught a tornado across the river. Scary stuff. In a matter of an hour and a half, we had two tornados go north of us and one go south.

I feel sorry for those tornados. They're going to be picked on when they get back to twister-land.

Wee! There was quite a storm where I live. I was stuck at my church from about 4:00 to 6:30, waiting for three different tornadoes to die out. I didn't know there were three, but it explains why it all lasted so long.
Darn band practice!

My friend's dad does radio communications to help out the police, 911 services, etc, and sent out the official warning to all those services to get people out of the mall area, cuz it looked like a tornado would touch down there. Thank goodness it didn't.

You know what? I wish I didn't live in Kansas. No, I take that back. I wish I didn't live in Kansas during winter, spring, and summer. Winter: too ****ing cold, too much ****ing snow. Spring: too much ****ing rain, too many ****ing tornadoes. Summer: too ****ing hot, too much ****ing humidity. Now fall on the other hand, fall is nice. Low humidity, nice and cool, and NO ****ING PRECIPITATION.

God, I've gotta get out more.

Last night we had some of those storms here. My city was under a tornado warning for a couple hours, one was reported to have touched down but it didn't seem to cause much if any damage.

The lights never even went out, although at one point we did huddle up in the safest place of the house. It was getting really quiet outside (cone of silence) and the sirens were still going off.

Fortunately we live in a very very hilley area, the only actual flat parts are the highways like Route 66 which I live a few miles away from. That's usually where they touch down but don't last long. Though my city's so small if a tornado touched down anywhere else here we'd all be doomed. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

92 tornadoes? Is that normal for this time of year? Do you lot usually get so many?

Anything over 8 in 24 hours is an outbreak. 92 is just a tad excessive.
