300 mhz?!

GET A NEW COMPUTER.

There's your error :/

Holy crap, dude. Blender would run like CRAP on a 300mhz computer. As would any other 3d modeling program, save maybe JED.

:( :(
Well are there any others?

No, there really aren't. They're all made for computers made in the last century.

Dude, its not the computers fault. It was probably good back in the day.

Thatd be like blaming your cart pulled by a donkey for not being as fast as a Ferrari.

I just downloaded Blender. I made a box shoot out sparks!!!.....well what do you expect, I just downloaded it last night.

Eventually I hope to be able to pull out some models too.

It's old. It's what is at the root of the problem. It's an inanimate object. There's no need to be careful about hurting its feelings.

I ran blender on a 400 Mhz laptop with 128 megs of RAM... didn't have any problem. But yeah, a new computer couldn't hurt.

EDIT: Okay I can go even one better than that. I currently have it running on a PII 266 with 64 megs of RAM. Works fine (if a bit slow [understatement of the year])

EDIT #2: Haha, it just took 22.26 seconds to render the default cube. For comparison, my desktop did it in 2.34.

Wow. Have you been living in a bunker for the past decade?

I think I may have a copy of 1.6x or 1.7x lying around on a cd somewhere if you want to try that. Won't be as pretty or have as many features, but it should run on your machine just fine. I had a PII 350Mhz that run up to 2.23 without too much trouble.
