I hear that they actually made all of three mini stories in movie as full-blown stories that were a lot longer, and they cut them up and together to make a fluid, shorter movie. This edition is apparently going to have all those parts in it, along with the cut version.

Looks interesting. I may pick it up. I wanted the first release because it came with some nifty little lithos.

I do get very annoyed by these stealthy special edition releases that come out shortly after the initial DVD release. The worst thing is that it is the fans they intend to hose because they know the casual DVD buyer isn't going to spring for a different version. Like the LotR extended editions. I never knew they were going to exist until I saw the special features on FotR. Needless to say, I never purchased another regular version of the DVDs.
