Ok for my birthday, I'm obviously getting birthday money from my relatives, I've decided when my birthday comes (June 6th) that I would like to buy an Onyx (black) colored Gameboy Advance SP and a few games for it, are there any games you guys would recommend?

Edit: I'm currently thinking about the game: Advance Wars 2, but I've heard it's hard to find, it looks like a great strategy type game that I would probobly enjoy, would any of you happen to know where I could get it, or any games similar to it and just as good?

Golden Sun 1 and 2. Both awesome if you like RPGs.

Which reminds me that I need to finish the second one...

Also Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance, and probably a few more that I just can't think of at the moment.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Over the past two weeks, I've logged a massive 80 hours into this game.

There, fixed. There's also a plethora of touched-up SNES/NES games, if you haven't already played them. Metroid: Zero Mission,The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past/Four Swords, Super Mario Advance (4?): Super Mario World... you get the picture. Oh, and you can't forget about the Castlevania games.

You should also try Fire Emblem for a rather unique Strategy game. i personally love it (going on third time playing through now)

Also good:
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Super Mario Advanced 4: Super Mario Bros. 3
A Link to the Past
Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced

I've been playing Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, and so far i have heard nothing but good things about Mario Vs. Donkey Kong

If you liked Super Mario RPG back in the day, you should like Superstar saga, and so far for me the game is fun. I'm only 6-7 hrs into it at this point, and considerign the three other video games I'm currently playing, I think those Brothers are taking the back seat for a little while

I recommend you wait until the release of Nintendo DS. GBA SP's price is bound to drop around the same time.

It better drop. The damn thing costs as much as a Game Cube. WHO IN THERE RIGHT MIND PAYS 100 DOLLARS FOR A HAND HELD GAME CONSOLE??? I remember back in MY day when the original Gameboy only costs 80 bucks. The original GBA is only on sale for about 60 bucks in some stores that still carry them but I want the SP version because of the back light. Well, until the drop price finally comes around, I'll just stick to my RO - err - alternate method of playing GBA games.

Well, In my house there are 4 GBA SP's. And plenty of games. I'll give you my top picks.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics (awsomest game ever)

2. Mario and Lugie (it's not a typical side scroller, it's and awsome RPG set in the Mario Universe)

3.Golden Sun ( one of the first RPG's for GBA, and in my opinion the best)

4. Megaman: Zero (it's a pretty fun sidescroller, with RPG elements)

5. Mario Cart (one of the best racing games out there, and if you have a friend who also owns a gameboy, you can get one of those link cables and face each other, even if he doesn't have a game. Only one is needed. But if he does have a game you can play like 40 tracks, instead of just 4.)

6. The "Super Mario World" games ( fun sidescrollers)

7. Return of the King (I'm not usually a fan of "hack and slash", but I had some fun with this thing. It adds alot to it if you get some GBA headphones. Or if you play at night or something when it's quiet. Suprisingly the sound isn't that bad. )
