After viewing that I couldnt help but laugh at hearing Liam Neeson portray the role of Aslan. A good laugh though.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

I swear to God if they mess up a certain scene with Aslan and the White Witch, I am going to storm Disney. Believe me, I want to love this movie. However, just the fact that it's Disney makes me wary. They do not havea good reputation for live action films. On the other hand, one would think this particular book would not be difficult to pull off well. I've been reading these books for years and years, and I really hope they don't mess it up.

If Disney screws this up with their "wonderful world of magic" type of things... or puts in a love story that doesn't show much love in it but is the most important thing of the movie...
Nothing to see here, move along.

Hmm, I didn't think they'd say "Sons of Adam" and "Daughters of Eve" in the movie, but I guess I was proved wrong now. I've only known of the cartoon version of the LWW Narnia story, so it's probably going to be pretty hard for the movie to be worse than that.

That was definitely the best of the trailers. Still looks like Harry Potter meets Disney meets Lord of the Rings.

Are there plans to make all 7 books into movies?

Last I heard, they're making five movies, everything except The Magician's Nephew and a Horse and his Boy.

And seeing Aslan going up the steps to the stone table reminded me that I am going to cry when they kill him. (CM sucks)

That's not even a major spoiler.

And if you don't know the story by now, wtf.

I've never read the book nor seen any show. Hell, I'd never even heard of it until this movie. So, yeah.

Looks very good.

It has been such a long time since I read the books that the movie will be very sweet for me.

Ewww...

I can't stand the Chronicles of Narnia in form. I'll probably end up being dragged to it by people anyway though.
nope.

Right Rob, and the LotR movies shouldn't have been made either. Do everyone a favor and stop being an ***.

Has anyone recently re-read the books as an adult? I was already aware of the allegorical nature of the series, but after a random conversatiom with a guy in a pub who pointed a few things out, I read them through again and was slightly shocked by the inherent racism...Still, some of my best childhood memories are from Narnia :D

[Dont watch the old BBC productions of LWW, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, etc. now you're all grown up. They're actually quite bad and it wrecked the magical memories I had. Oh well]
2005-11-14, 3:55 AM #25
I just wish the talking animals didn't look so cheesy... Aslan is supposed to look dignified, not comical. :(

Ah well, I suppose that's probably a hard thing to accomplish. It does look like it's going to kick some major ***, though.

Why not Magician's Nephew and Boy and his Horse?

It's been so long since I read them, I don't remember anything past Prince Caspian.

The Magicians Nephew, while volume 1 in the series was written after LWW. It's a prequel basically, except he had no intention of originally writing it. LWW was supposed to be a stand alone book pretty much. This one shows the creation of Narnia, how the White Witch leaves her old world and journey's to Narnia (after a brief stop on Earth).

Never read Boy and His Horse so I dunno on that.

Boy and his horse is kind of parallel I think to one of the other books, its a story not having to do much with the main overall plot in another country.
