My dad fixed my computer so that Ipod works but not JA, and when I tried the Ipod software it got rid of my existing library... Everything is now gone and I have to start from the beginning again. All my music is gone.

This sucks. :(

Well, that should teach you not to let your old man touch your computer.

or it should teach you to back up your music library...

I've gone through that myself.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Your... dad fixed your PC?

That happened to me a couple of weeks ago when my hard drive burned up on me. Good thing I had all the good stuff on my mp3 player.

Sadly, it didn't delete his internet, and he's still on Massassi.

We should block AOL users from massassi.... Brian?

Furthermore, is there any way to use the iPod WITHOUT iTunes? I may be getting it this christmas, and I don't know if I want to use iTunes, as it's bloated and silly when I can just drag and drop folders.

All players require some sort of software. I don't think there are any that are just drag and drop when it comes to music.

From what you posted earlier, it looks like you need to get recent drivers for your video card. I've had similar errors with Jedi Outcast.

Actually, I'd like to know that too. About the iTunes I mean. 'Rents might pick me up an Ipod fer Christmas...so I'm curious as well.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Come on, JA is not that bad. The story leaves much to be desired, but the improved saber combat more than makes up for it.

Kirby: You have to install iTunes, but once it's installed, you change a setting (I forget where) to have the iPod act as a hard drive. Then you won't need iTunes anymore and can uninstall it.

Thank god. iTunes is absolute crap.

I would reccommend against the iPod for ONE simple reason--distortion at decently high volume levels (2/3 of the way or so), especially for bass.

But if you're deadset on it, I think CM's option works though I'm not sure if you can use it for music. Either way, iTunes isn't that bad...just takes getting used to. Syncing with it is just a ***** at times.

I don't know, I'm really attracted to the size of that new ipod, and just because I've used it and I like the wheel a whole freaking bunch. Like, in comparison to all of the other one's with their dinky little plastic buttons that feel like I'm rubbing 2 stones together technology, the wheel just rolls and I'm done. I don't know, it's innovation. I HATE cell-phones with a passion because of all the button mashing, and that's all I can think of when I even touch something other than an iPod.

If you can suggest something that's affordable, small, has drag and drop, and most importantly doesn't have stickly little buttons that may or may not be pressed down the first time you push the button, than please, do tell. I'm interested.

That'll teach you not to download Linkin Park songs.

Ya... maybe you should see this as a sign and get into a different genre... like nu-folk or nu-calypso or something.
