Urban legend says that if you say my name 3 times in a very short quote, a gnome will grant you three wishes...
It's just that... nobody in 2600 years of western philosophy has been conclusively able to dismiss moral relativism as 'BS'. You can subscribe to it, or you can't, but I have my doubts that a star wars internet dude has an argument that sufficiently labels it 'BS', no offense, changing the face of thought itself, and silencing the debate that is being held in every university around the globe.
I appreciate moral relativism, at least parts, because it's hard to deny the fact that morals, like every other human characteristic, are obviously a product of so many things, a thesis I spammed around these boards a lot recently.
I'm a moral cognitivist, if something like that exists, and believe in social contract. I believe morals vary in ranges of preferability, which is determined by justification, thought and study. A "wrong" set of morals would be morals that aren't justified, or that applied while other morals have been justified better. Anyone that labels anything 'right', 'wrong', 'good', 'evil' outside of those parameters has something to sell. Be aware of them - we call them 'moral absolutists'.
People who are called John in the US, would probably have been called Juan if they lived in the Spanish speaking world. Maybe Jan, or Johannes, or João.. Same with morals.
That's why I appreciate moral relativism - real world observation. Something which you, hypocritically (there's that word again), accuse Freelancer of of not having done.
Plus, noone I ever saw on here understood it. ('you're a moral relativist - you can do whatever the hell you want!')
Please prove me wrong, preferably in a new thread.
But back to you calling me a hypocrite: you are a son of a silly person!
