I've seen one of his shows when I was a little kid, he walked right past me in the aisle when he did a "double" of himself, and he appered in the middle of the audience out of nowhere. Then he had to walk out back onstage and walked right past me.

David Blaine has a few screws loose, but still does some pretty cool stuff. The cameras help too. :-)

As for Copperfield, he's awesome, but I'm too stupid to figure out how he did the laser thing.

He used 2 molds of the front of his body, one's a set of pant legs, the other of his torso. For the initial part where he's behind the curtan, he leans one way and turns the mold, to make it look like he waist points off to the side. When he's standing "next" to himself, he's crouching behind the two molds. Watch him shift position and pull closer when the camera swings by, he's not quite fast enough and for a split second you can make out him behind it (and apparently there's the shadows, but I missed that). Watch him when he walks, it's all retarded looking because his knees aren't there anymore to walk properly. All this trick takes is 2 body casts, some balance, and a fancy gimmick to explain why you've been cut in half
