Every new game i have been picking up always fail to load because incorrect CD is in it says.

And this includes Far Cry and Lock on Modern Combat.

It has to do with their retarded copy protection on the cds.

Now i remember there being a Windows XP patch for this SOMEWHERE....

Don't jump to conclusions: my very legal, provably purchased copies of Homeworld, Rollercoaster Tycoon and it's expansion pack won't run either, because it thinks the CD code on the back of the box is wrong.

I got over it by playing Black and White, Discworld and Minesweeper instead.

Um i did buy them.

I WANT the copy protection XP patch. NOT a cd crack.

I've gotten this before and it fixed the problems of CDs not being detected correctly.

arg it was my fault all along.

I ahve alcohol 120% and it was making a Virtual Drive by default. Which explains the extra drive that came out of no where.

But works now so i guess this was kind of a waste [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I've got a similar problem due to an incompatibility with my current CD-drive and my motherboard.

Games that are protected with "SafeDisc" always refuse to run until I just go and get a cracked *.exe.

So far on the list: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Battlefield: Vietnam, Flight Simulator 2004.

Reeeeaally annoying, especially since I actually HAVE purchased these games and do legitimately own them. *hugs cracker community*. The copyprotection can apparently easily be circumvented. All it does is prove a nuisance for me when I have to wait for some release group to crack the game which I already legitimately own. Hopefully this will be remedied by eventually buying a brand spanking new DVD-R drive.

If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

Just use SafeDisc2 Cleaner or UnSafeDisc on the .exe, usually fixes any "insert the correct CD" errors.

They wont work because niether of those games are Thief Deadly Shadows. Your computer recognized that Thief Deadly Shadows is the best game ever and wont run anything else.

Funny the cds look like they are on a white surface. Not often people take pictures of CDs on such a platform. Thus it isn't "OWNED" at all.
