2. It's maddox. ****ing duh.
3. Deal with it. Do we need a new thread every time you see the newest ****ty trend movie out? I think not.

Maddox is obviously a Carlin fan. I notice more and more in his pages how much he borrows from Carlin.

The so called "Idaho drivers" are actually California drivers with Idaho plates on their cars. At least a quarter of the population of North Idaho must be immigrated Californians. There was a time when I lived there, and oh yes, the "California Driver" was always a popular topic. (Its also popular in Washington and Oregon).

Besides, at least there are rivers (that one would actually deem suitable to swim in.. you can SEE the bottom!) and mountains, which is more than you can say for most of the flat, muddy watered midwestern states.

Let's not forget Arco's aid to nuclear power, and, let's see here, oh yeah: T.V. What the hell has Utah provided other than the occasional swarm of mormons and/or mormon crickets?

He is absolutely correct about the drivers. About 60% of the vehicles on the road on I-84 going through Boise are in the passing lane. I-84 is also one of the worst roads I have ever driven on. Also, Idaho has a candy bar called the "Idaho Spud." It is not very good, and contains no potato products.

Hardly. There is absolutely no way Idaho drivers are worse than Californian drivers.

And Idaho has the smallest transportation budget of any state you've been in.

That's meaningless unless you figure it per capita or per mile of road that has to be maintained.

Avenger, take a look at the size of Idaho, then realize that I-84 stretches across the entire bottom of it. The realize that Idaho has less that 1.5 million people. It's a miracle I-84 is in as good of shape as it is.

Dugway, Biological and Chemical weapons testing, mainly in the area of wind dispersment pattersn (studies of how to respond to attacks, as well as antidote research.

One of the finest companies of Reservist Marines in the country.

Telvision. Well, I'll admit that Philo Farnsworth may not have been the direct contribute to telvision, that is debatable. He developed the concept paralell (but not cooperatively) with another inventor.

M2 .50 Machine Gun
BAR 1919 and derived weapons (M249 SAW, etc.)
1911 pistol and derived weapons (Glock, etc.)

All developed by John Moses Browning (a Mormon) in Ogden

The University of Utah has one of the top med programs, resulting in skilled medical technicians, hence saving lives.

BYU (as much as I despise it) contributes much to the historical research field, leaving it's collection of ancient documents open. It also works with respected old world archaeologists to uncover some of the history of the Holy Land, which is something vital to current events. By no means are they THE authority, but some work has been done that would be difficult and not done yet without them.

Pretty much all of those things other people did also. In other places. Idaho sucks. So does texas. And Ohio. And North Dakota.

Idaho has Craters of the Moon.

Yeah, I think the Germans deserve a little more credit for the Minimi than Browning.

Yay, an NBC playground and a reserve company? Idaho was the testing grounds for nuclear submarines, and is where Afghanistan simulations are held.

Yeah, we have a BYU too, unfortunately.

Texas kicks ***. Texas isn't... comparable w/ those other places... if for nothing else than for the facts that it has over 22 million people, several of the United States' largest cities, forests oceans lakes mountains escarpments plateaus etc...

Texas has richer history than your mother, ok?!!?!

Plus Texas encompasses like 5 climate/vegetation zones while most states encompass 2 at the most.

You can find anything in TX.

TX rocks.

Texas also has a few of the fattest cities in America, and some of the biggest hicks. A teacher of mine went to parts of Texas once where he said just about everyone had a freaking gun on them. Stupid hicks.

Texas wins for one reason, and one reason only.

I should clarify.

The section of I-84 that goes through Boise is one of the worst roads I have driven on. The part of it that is east of Boise is butter smooth. I didn't have any problem with any other roads in Idaho.

I don't have extensive experience with California drivers. I suppose that they could be worse, but probably for different reasons than the Idahoans.

California drivers suck in that there is no reason why they suck. There is no consistent reason why they're bad. And, they vary greatly in different parts of the state.

Seeing the bottom of a river is a bad thing. Crystal clear water indicates that micro-organisms can't live in it, which could indicate toxicity. They don't filter and chlorinate the swimming holes in nature, so when you come across one it's usually a bad sign.

Part of the reason is because it's brackish water, and fewer species can survive in it.

Healthy freshwater ecosystems should always produce cloudy water, discounting sediment. The only perfectly safe and crystal clear natural water source would be glacial runoff.

Heh, and the lowest per-capita military recruitment in the entire country. Not something I'd be proud of. Also, Utah ranks number 1 per capita in America for antidepressant prescriptions. :p
