is EVIL.

I borrowed the game from my friend and installed it with a 10 day guest pass.

3 days into the pass I bought the game with a 6 month subscription, :( .

It should be put in the same category as Crack Cocaine. :)

So anyway, are you an addict? if not, why do you hate it?

And whats your char? I have a level 18 Undead Rogue on a PvP server.

I played for about 3-4 months, then stopped playing when I started university. I can't wait to resubscribe when the break rolls around or I pick up a job, whichever comes first.

I have to admit, WoW is crack. I've cancelled my account like 3 times now yet I keep coming back to it. My subscription is frozen atm but with the new paladin changes coming soon and the fact my main character is a level 60 paladin, I'm going to wait til the patch comes up and renew again and then seek a therapist once the month is up.

For some reason I could never get into WoW. Dunno why, I enjoy other MMORPGs just fine.

I started playing it at the beginning of the month. I'm already bored of it.

It's not a bad game at all. It takes so many good ideas from so many MMORPGs and implements it in a fun and robust manner. But that's exactly it - there's nothing new or unique in WoW. The very second I sat down with it I felt like I had played it a million times over, because I had.

And because it's a massively multiplayer game, the whole thing feels like a big level treadmill - right down to the grocery list-style quests and the dungeons/instances that are nothing more than a killing spree.

Honestly I'm just sick of games that are about collecting XP. CRPGs and MMORPGs are both dead to me. What I'd really like to play is a MMO Zelda64-style game. A bit more action-adventure/arcade, with Pure dungeon/quest gameplay.

Well, I've never considered Zelda to be an RPG. That game series is too much of an action/adventure game with some RPG elements.

I only brought that up because I was thinking you wanted an MMORPG that was like Zelda. If you're just talking about MMO in general, there aren't a lot of MMOs that aren't RPGs out there. The only two MMOs I can think of that aren't RPGs is planetside and World War II Online.

Those are the only two I can think of, as well.

I beta tested Planetside. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything too special. There was no 'goal' to work toward, so the idea of spending $10 a month to play it is a tad flimsy. Especially when you can get the same thing with an immeasurable number of other FPSes.

WW2OL.... I have two words to respond to that: LANGUAGE WARNING -> "Flying tank" <- LANGUAGE WARNING

(I miss the golden age of MMORPG ranters... lumthemad, musashi... sigh)

Have you tried Graal Online? It's basicallly a LttP MMO with a ton of stuff.

The pricing is very good, too. Any subcription lands you a lifetime pass to Graal Classic and the playerbuilt servers. The 2 p2p servers are supposedly very fun, but I've only had a few minutes to muck around on them.

Not only that, but the oppourtunity to build a playerworld is there. Tilebased map editing and a javascript based coding language. It's pretty neat.

I used to play it alot back in the day when it was totally free. I've been meaning to splurge on a membership if only just for the lifetime free Graal Classic. Plus, I used to play on dialup and I remember it being way fun despite my high lat.

Depends what you wanna get out of your game really.

If you're heavy into spellcasting, go for Mage or Priest.

Tanks are warriors and rogues to a degree, or you can fuse those two classes with a Shaman or Druid.

Warlocks and Hunters get pets, whilst the former is a spellcaster and the latter is a sniper.

I havent tried all of the classes, but as far as Shaman, Priest, Rogue and Hunter go, they're all fun.

Rogue and Shaman i found the best though.

Tauren Shaman: Good idea, but make it female. They look kick *** in the end game shaman gear.

Dwarf Hunter: Not a bad idea, but being a dwarf hunter is quite silly as a lot of hunters jump and spin in mid air and fire off their special attacks.

Orc Warrior: Nice choice. Warriors are always fun. However, trolls are very fun warriors as well. They are all lanky and hold swords and bows really cool looking.

Holy god I feel horrible.

I have been playing since 5 Oclock, and it's now 11:15.

I tried a Tauren Shaman and kept getting killed by stupid crap, and the starting place for Tauren somewhat... ok, really really sucked in comparison too....

Undead. I have NO idea what caused me to slap together an undead warlock, considering they're meant for more advanced players but... oh my god, I'm having so. Much. Fun. Level 11 already. I'm enjoying it way too freaking much. Somehow it keeps me busy enough to realize there's nothing actually being accomplished.

I retain my opinion that it's not worth my 15 bucks a month, but if I could get it for cheaper, it'd be a nice time-sink on those long boring days of nothing.

I'm off all next week, and guess what I'll be playing? WoW :-(

I think I'm going to make that Orc Warrior on the unofficial massassi realm tomorrow. Goddamn, this game is fun.
