Not sure if this has been talked about yet, but...
Wow. That's pretty much it. The units all are effected by ragdoll physics, pieces blow off of buildings and scatter along the ground, people go flying, things set on fire... I could go on for a while about the explosions and such, but I'd get repetitive fast.
It focuses less on the whole political aspect of the game and more on the blow the living **** out of the other team.
The home city aspect is really neat. You build a 'deck' of 'cards' that you can use as you advance ages. Some cards can only be used once (Like sending two carts that transform into outposts for instance), and others an infinite amount of times (Crates of resources). You gain XP and when you gain enough, you can activate another card. Pretty interesting if you're getting attacked, then all of a sudden a carriage carrying supplies to build a fort appears, and you build it before you're wiped out and manage to defend yourself.
You have an 'explorer' who goes around and can collect treasure, ally with indians, connect trade routes and all that stuff. He gets two sharpshooting abilities: One kills any treasure guardian in one hit (That'd be a... guardian of treasure.) the other killing any military unit other than artillery. Pretty interesting guy, that explorer.
I'm so getting this as soon as it comes out.

"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"
"N-No it's not!"
"Oh."
