Ridiculous language problem in Word...

Okay, now I'm at the end of my tether. I set Word to English UK and it keeps reverting to English US the minute I start typing again - that and Windows keeps flipping my keyboard control to English US and I have to keep using the language bar to set it to English UK - you can understand that this is not particularly amusing.

Anyone got any solutions to make it stay in UK mode?

You have to click on default when you change it.

old news, but...
Type "unable to follow directions" , highlight it, and then hit Shift + F7.

(the intended result may not show up in some newer versions of office when you do this...)

You can just delete the US English keyboard layout (but I think Windows doesn't like it if you do)
