King Kong Early?

I just saw a preview--said December 14th.

Wasn't it slated for 2006? That said, though I was sorta looking forward to it, this is EXCELLENT news for the Hobbit movie. :D

I'm fairly certain that Peter Jackson's next movie will not be the hobbit... According to imdb, he's signed on to direct "The Lovely Bones," to be released in 2007:

yeah i noticed what DS pointed out a while ago, ive just been trying to forget about it until it's (hopefully) finally announced. a lot of the older characters dont have too much longer to live... he should hurry.

oh, and remember that article that said hayden christensen said he was quitting acting before he sells out? and he was gonna be an architect?

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0159789/

yeah.. no.

The trailer has always just said "December". =P

Same with Halo--something tells me he's either going to be a VERY busy man in the coming year, or he's going to collapse under the pressure of LotR fans

yeah.. no.

Maybe he can prove once and for all that it was Lucas's ****ty direction, and not just bad acting, that made everyone hate him in Episode 2/3----- hahaha no, I'm just kidding. That kid is ****. Hayden, if you're reading this: NEVER. ACT. AGAIN.

I don't think the legal issues with the Hobbit movie have been worked out.

Yeah. I haven't seen any news considering that. Way back Jackson said nothing happens before those are worked out for real.

Legal issues? :wtf: What sorts of legal issues would there be? If Christopher Tolkien is the cause of this, I'm gonna slap him with The Silmarillion.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Last I heard the Tolkien Estate had given Jackson permission to make The Hobbit but they had yet to work out the fine details.

I'll be severely disappointed if Jackson doesn't do it, The Hobbit is my favorite Tolkien book.

One movie studio owns the rights to make the movie and another studio owns the rights to distrubute the movie. Both want the exlcusive rights because of all the money the movie will make.

As many fans of the series already know, Jackson hopes to make The Hobbit, but there are rights issues that may hold things up. Two studios, New Line and MGM, are scrapping over the rights – New Line actually holds the rights to make the film and MGM has distribution rights.

Quite a funny situation. Or perhaps not...

Edit: Avenger beat me to it, but, well, I got some more details...

I'll wager 20 bucks that he could still act better than you on any given day.

I think just reading the lines normally would have had a better effect than what he portrayed.
Besides, he never said he could do any better. He just said that Hayden sucks ***.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Peter Jackson really has nothing to do with the Halo movie. Producer is kind of just a badge of honor for WETA being involved...

Ha! The producer controls who works on the movie, everything from cast to crew.

On any given day Juzytn does act better than Hayden, by simply not acting at all.

yeah im def. going to see it, but mainly cuz of the director. he's dropped so much weight since LOTR it's crazy. I saw the preview for this movie when I went to see Harry Potter (great movie btw, although lacked some parts from the book). Anywho King Kong def. looks interesting
