Happy (American) Thanksgiving

I'm not sure what's the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Something about turkey, pilgrims, Indians (Native Americans, for you politically correct people), alot of food and Thanksgiving TV specials. Right. I bet it 153x better than Canadian Thanksgiving.

What are you going to do today? My family got an 11 pound turkey, and a bunch of relatives are coming over. Bah. It's unnerving to see how the "family nose" was passed down though generations (including me). :(

Oh. My. God.

I want these freaks known as my Irish relatives out of my house!

They all decided to pop over to the States, with my parents invitation, for our american thanksgiving.

Those retards.

I am STAYING HOME for a change. My birthday is always within a few days of thanksgiving, so I never get to have a day to myself for my birthday, as opposed to people walking through the door going "Happy birthday Sam. Oh look, turkey!" which was about all I got from 3 people last year, what with it being ON turkey day.
I had a blog. It sucked.

My family is weird and we ate our dinner on Tuesday.

I plan to spend tomorrow with a plate of cold turkey and pumpkin pie. I'll watch romantic comedies and drink wine. I'll be thankful somewhere in there. Maybe when work tries to call me in to work and I say no. :em321:

Two things:

1) An 11 lb turkey??!! For you, your family, and all those relatives? If there's not enough to go around, there WILL be the shedding of fresh blood.

>_>

<_<

2) So ... does your nose look like this?

Happy international normal day! Like all normal days, I'm going to do nothing. But for all those who celebrate thanks whatever it's called, enjoy.

I have a differential equations test today. Go me. Of course my thanksgiving (the REAL one :p ) was back at the beginning of October. I'm just looking forward to Christmas.

Spending time with my family at home for a week before college resumes. Thank God for that.

Man whats the big deal with thanksgiving anyways. I don't even know what its for. Matter of fact, I've never celebrated it in my 21 years of living. Hell I spent last thanksgiving home playing computer, my parents stayed home and did wtvr.

The first Thanksgiving home after going away to college is always interesting.

First of all, living in a dingy hole (by pretty much anyone's standards) for 3 months made me really appreciate the manoral abode that I always used to take for granted. I immediately went for a ride in my Ford for a macho boost, but after going 80 mph up the steepest hill in the county, my engine was smoking... :o

I visited my old school and went back in time to the days when I wore a shirt and tie every day and there weren't any troublesome girls about. It was great to see all my old teachers, my old coach, and the headmaster and priests, and the underclassmen were all very happy to see me as well. Just as I was leaving some of my classmates showed up, but I had to go...

I showed up at a usual hangout spot to pick up a quick lunch, but my mom was driving the car (she had wanted to take me shoe shopping) and all the guys were there and she was waiting outside and I felt like such a.... BOY.

I had an old friend over and he wanted to show me some moves he'd learned in judo class but ended up sprawled on the floor with a bloody mouth. :o

And today, over Thanksgiving lunch, my uncle was telling us about this condo that he was renting in Hawaii on the island of Kamehama.... Kalehana.... Kahlamena...

Me: "Kahlua?"

Uncle: "..... that's a coffee liqueur..."

:o :o :o

It just isn't Thanksgiving without seeing KITT smoke a Camaro!

Turkey/Mashed Potatoes, then Sweet potatoes, then Turkey/Mashed Potatoes, then a final helping of sweet potatoes. Add cookies and chocolate and rolls to the mix, and you've got a kick *** Thanksgiving.

I spent all day preparing the turkey, dressing, and mashed potatoes. My mom took care of the salad, and it was just me and my parents. Since we had an 18lbs turkey, I don't doubt we'll be eating turkey in some form or another for the next couple of weeks.

I will say, that turkey I cooked up has to have been the most moist and wonderful tasting turkey I have ever had. I <3 the Food Network for their wonderful instructions.

A lot of Quebecois don't celebrate Thanksgiving. I do, since my mom's from Alberta, and that's the way I was raised, but most of my friends don't.
