restart?
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

Ive tried that MANY MANY MANY times.
And remember. This is a clean install no patches no mods nothing just the game.
Also this error popped up after i instaled it and asked me to pley. I also ran it from the disk... It still said no disk WTF!

Have you considered patching it? It may be a known issue addressed in the patch (doubtful, very)

if you owned it I'd say get a crack...
it's also funny to me that you called it an "odd error" since that seems to be exactly what it is. an ODD error...

I suggest buying it.

I aint buying it till i get a taste of the gameplay. The demo wouldn't install so i borrowed it to see if it was worthy.
2005-11-27, 3:40 PM #7
If the demo didn't work why would you think the full game would?
2005-11-27, 3:42 PM #8
Yea, it's essencially the SAME GAME ENGINE, just with different data files. No reason why it SHOULD have worked, and every reason why it shouldn't've.

since you have a valid CD and (presumably) your friend's CD key, try putting in a tech support request.

I told you: there isn't anybody better-equipped to deal with your problem than the tech support experts paid to deal with these problems.

Oh, incidentally, Rise of Nations is one of those fancy games that likes to break itself when you install a CD patch, so I'd suggest avoiding those. Lest you make your problem worse. You aren't the first person to have problems with a copy of RoN you don't own.
