What old games are you playing?
2005-12-01, 1:19 PM #1
I've been playing both WoW and Star Wars Battlefront 2 for awhile now and I just cancelled my subscription(been playing WoW for a year and now it's boring). Well, I picked up some older games and started replaying them, namely KotOR2(I'm on my third time through on my first evil character) and Jedi Academy(I don't know why, it's just been appealing to me lately). I still play BF2 though. It's very fun.

So, what older games(6 or more months from when you played them first) have you found yourself picking up lately?

Outdated computer... Not enough ram. :o
It runs on the lowest graphics settings, but it's so sluggish that it's not worth it.

Anyway, I'm trying to play Super Mario Bros 3 and 2 for the NES as well as some Mega Man games. I'm trying to get the NES working again, but the old, outdated, worn out connector is posing such a problem. Help? :(

I knowww!! I don't understand why more fps's don't use geo-mod. I like it better than havok physics :( (I love havok physics too, just love geo-mod even more).

Quake2. Actually, a mod for quake 2 called Action Quake - kinda like CS but before CS and sooo much better, faster and downright electrifying! (yea, it's multiplayer only).
2005-12-01, 4:40 PM #23
I was playing Fallout: Tactics, but it gets boring after a while (namely when you get to the robot missions). Other than that, I just reinstalled Baldur's Gate 2 after Overlord's (I think?) thread a few days ago, and I've been playing PES4 a little too (haven't picked up the new one).

The patent on the NES hardware is out so you can buy legal third party NES systems now that aren't crappy. That's my advice :) google it

I'm playing Fallout, and X Com...like usual.
These games never get old

Ooo X-Com, if I could remember how I owned it so much as a kid (I beat the living crap out of that game at 9) I'd actually enjoy it.

Arming heavy explosives, equip a rooky with them and a jetpack, blow a hole in the wall/roof of whatever with a grenade or two and send him flying in. Endless fun.

When my WoW addiction was put on hold for a while (sub expired in the middle of last month) I tried to kill time by playing the following games:

- Max Payne (Only made it towards the middle of the 3rd part and got bored and stopped there)

- NOLF 2 (played and completed it in 2 days. Uninstalled since its MP is pretty dead)

- Duke Nukem 3D (latest version of high res pack was released recently, allowing the game to use models instead of sprites and 32-bit textures)

- Shadow Warrior Shareware (the guy that made the port for duke3d high res also made one for this game too. I'm trying to convert some of the weapons into models since the game doesn't have a full high res pack yet)

After playing those games over the course of 15 days, I decided that my current selection of games was boring so I decided to renew WoW for the 3rd time now (I'm having trouble trying to leave that game for good, lol). The new 1.9 patch has a major paladin revamp and my main character is a paladin so I'm looking forward to the patch to go live.

How much? The patch fixes a lot of performance issues.

Man, I wish I can get Dark Forces to work on my computer. The setup program freezes up so I'm force to manually install the game in order to play. Sadly, you need the setup program to reconfigure the controls and I can't stand the default controls.
