Did you get a good shockwave? It's not cool unless you feel the shockwave.

Reminds me of the potato gun my next door neighbor made. Homemade explosives are friggin sweet.
"Flowers and a landscape were the only attractions here. And so, as there was no good reason for coming, nobody came."

Potato guns are awesome. We (ok, my dad) made one that had an ignition button as opposed to a little twist screw of whatever that my uncle has, and nearly blew his head off one night when he set it down on the button.

Burning loads of black powder is awesome too...big freaking flame, and then nothing.

That reminds me of this great story my dad has about back when he and my brother were in Indian Guides, a Cub Scout-like group for kids. At this one campout, the fire was dying down a bit, so this one kid's dad, who had been drinking something hard all night, thought it would be a good idea to throw the picnic table into the fire. Yeah...

thats awesome, some of my friends made a bomb once, they stuck it an old stove in his back yard and when they detonated it the top of the stove flew off and went thru his neighbors roof. he has it on a tape somewhere, its hillarious.

Hey, I've made better.

One that knocked me over when I was 30 feet away. Yea.

Awe, black powder only burns? I was hoping it'd more...explode. I had plans.

Get that tape Alran. :D

And Kyle90, what haven't you done with chemistry?
DO NOT WANT.
2005-12-04, 5:10 PM #32
Oh, black powder can certainly explode. Anything that combusts very quickly can, it just takes the right conditions. Closed containers to hold in the pressure, stuff like that. Of course, that makes it much, much more dangerous under those conditions, so kids, don't play with black powder at home.

Only bombs I've ever made were sparkler bombs. Of course, 3 packets of sparklers actually pack quite a whallop. The last one I lit off shook the entire hillside where it was sitting.
Life is beautiful.
