In the television airing of Men in Black 2, they replaced the "Ball-Chinian" (sp?) alien with "Chin-Chinian." They even got rid of the testicles that were on his face. Oh well.

Haha, man, I actually completely forgot that I bought Pulp Fiction. It's been sitting under a pile of coats for the past like 6 months.

Spike does (or did) a lot about 3 months ago. Dad turned it on, watched the restaurant robbery scene, little brother walked in and he's like "You know..this really isn't a good movie for 9 and 12 year olds" (this WAS about 3 months ago when I was 12 :P) and changed the channel. I think they actually re-recorded the entire conversation there for a TV version because it was obvious that there was more language in it than there was on the TV version.

Oh yes...Die Hard is loaded with dubs. DH 3, just a minute or two before that they changed the sign to "I hate everybody."

Interestingly enough; that was what was originally on the sign that he was wearing. "I hate n*****s" was added digitally afterwards.

But yeah; some of the Die Hard ones are great: "Yippie-kai-yay Mister Falcon!"

In "Russkies", when it was on the Disney channel back in the 80's, I remember most of the cussing done by the main army badguy dude was dubbed with "Nimrod" I always found it more humorous when you could see he was saying "you stupid a**hole" and "nimrod" was dubbed over the top... good times :D

In Galaxy Quest, when Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver get to the smasher room, Sigourney says, "Well, screw that!" Watch her mouth, however - because she doesn't say "screw."

The Matrix.

Instead of "How 'bout I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call", it's simply "How 'bout I give you the flipper?" Neo never does give Smith this "flipper", and never asks for a phone call.

you think they could have used something that makes more sences, and got people that actualy sound like the original actors. also, does anyone have any video samples of editing where the bad words are just removed, but the mouth movements remain. we hardly ever have those broadcast problems as the SBS owns the broadcast rights to a number of pulp fiction esque films. and we also have foxtel, our pay tv provider that has channels where movies are either played, or if they are not suiteable, they do not get played.

also, that dolphin looks like it would bite my face off.

"I say we grease this rat fat son of a *****."

"You don't see them friggin' each other over for a goddamn percentage."

Both from Aliens.

Funny thing is the person dubbing Bill Paxton sounded like a woman, and Sigourney Weaver sounded like a man.

In Mean Girls, the original script (and take) has Regina George reffering to another girl as "Vag odor." This was later dubbed over to say "fat whore."

Funnily enough, that's my favorite one.

Oh, and "Holy smokes!" on the matrix :P
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

I watched Get Shorty on TNT a while ago. Every other line was "holy smokes" or "bull spit" or "freakin.'" It was funny.

Not exactly TV, but the funk dub for Shaun of the Dead is hilarious.
2005-12-05, 2:15 PM #33
When I watched Cowboy Bebop movie on tv, Spike says, "you take too long to take a ****." When they dub the word "crap" over it, the voice sounded completely different, it took a different tone that didn't sound angry at all, and there was an akward pause before he says it.

and, you! You take too long to take a! CRAP.

Yeah, these burgerboys are really weird.

Although in Germany they don't erase foul language, they just cut the movies down until they're only half as long.
It's funny when you see the introduction of the cool stake-weapon Clooney uses and then later in the movie you just see im throwing it away you sure wonder what he did with it...
Heh, and there is a Jackie Chan movie that is about 110 minutes long in the Chinese version, 120 minutes in the Japanese version and 70 minutes long in the German version. They cut the entire end-sequence.
Sorry for the lousy German

They don't cut out swearing here as long as its after 9.

They never dub films, it just sounds baaaaad.
nope.

Funky Pete was hilarious.

"It's four in the funking morning!"
"It's Saturday!"
"No it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm so FUNKING ANGRY?"
"Funk yeah!"

The whole film was utterly brilliant, though.

"Shaun. I'm sorry."
"It's alright"
"No. Shaun, I'm sorry."
"Wha.. UGH!"
"Whats that for?" "Thats the machine that goes 'ping'" PING!
