What's the most obscure thing you have?
2005-12-06, 5:48 PM #1
What the subject says -- what do you think is the most obscure thing you have around? Feel free to post a pic of it too and/or multiple obscure things.

For me, I think it'd have to be a Bob the Goldfish toy. He's holding a sign that says "Get Jim."

I'm sure you all can do better. :)

I have a Jim Dean decanter from the same bike race featured in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Sadly, it's the '71 race, not the '70 like in the book/movie.

The Yoshi is remote controlled. You can buy a bunch of other Mario Kart characters and race them around the room.

-A figurine who's trashing a computer made out of old nails and scrap iron.
-The skull of a cat (which I once found in a forest - the skull not a complete cat)
-5 Wooden Elephant sculptures made in... ehm... I think it was Uganda, not completely sure though. Unfortunately I lost their fangs which were made of ivory.
-binocular goggles with optional sunshading. You can zoom in and stuff, but the lenses are really poor so it's not as sharp as it should be.

It's a chainmaille belt, handmade by yours truely, and the clasp is something of a family heirloom.

I've got a section of some large mammal's jaw bone with a bout 4 teeth in it sitting in my desk drawer. It's probably from a cow, because there are quite a lot of them near the stream where I found the bone, and because the teeth look like grinding teeth more than anything else.

https://lasvegaswranglers.com/shop/productview.aspx?prodid=176

I have some Duke hair. The Duke is the mascot for the Las Vegas Wranglers (hockey team) and one day my friend ran up to the Duke, grabbed his hair, and ripped part of it off. He then fled and later gave it to me as a birthday gift.

So yeah. That image isn't what I own, but it gives you an idea of what The Duke looks like.

That... explains so much. ;)

Mercury is fun though; I used to have a bunch I had collected from various sources (thermostats are great for this), but my parents made me get rid of it.
