... according to a recent study... nature forces the males of a species to make a painful trade-off between mental capacity and sperm production.

Because of the high-energy demands of both brains and sperm, scientists believe males cannot generate large amounts of both.

Whell whadya know... Those people credited with big kahunas for doing stupid things are small minded.

Not surprising. The human body only has enough blood to provide around 25% of the body with nutrients and O2 at any given time...

So this is why promiscuous people are typically stupid. It's bred into them.

We have this problem because we, in fact, have two minds. Thinking with our balls has never been more true, it seems...

Ok.

But they also say that women with big breasts are stupid. So in a sense, saying that having trouser titans isn't exactly that surprising.

Hey guy, a point of interest - you don't really need a lot of sperm. It isn't "who fills the bucket first" competition, you know ;) You need just enough of it in the right place. :)

Who needs a high sperm count anyway? Most people aren't ****ing for kids anyway.

So if I stop being smart, will my balls get bigger?

I was trying to find a pick of that episode of Seinfeld when Jerry was playing chess with.....himself. It's from the episode title "The Nose". If someone finds it, please post it. It would be the perfect picture for this thread.
The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.

Yep, and if you make your balls smaller, you'll become more intelligent... or at least make an appearance in Yahoo's odd news section.

That's no true. You need just shy of 100 million sperm in an ejaculation to realistically try to fertilize an egg.

As for the large breasts causing low intellegence, like I said, the body only has enough blood to allow 25% of the body to function. The brain and the kidneys require nearly half of it just to keep you alive. Higher brain functions start slowing down when blood is directed else where. I guess you have better chances with said women if you...er...help in that redirection.

Actually, that's not true. Onle 1 (two at the most) do the actual fertilizations - that is, end up in the right place. The rest are in all the wrong places.

And that's precisely why you need the brain - not ot have such a lousy hit to miss ratio.

...ok, first of all you need more than two sperm just to break down the ovum membrane. Second of all, I don't even recall saying you need all those sperm to fertilize the egg itself, I said to attempt to fertilize. Meaning, in order to ensure enough sperm make it ampulla to meet the ovum.

Yeah, if only one made it to the egg, it would die trying to get in.

different sperm cells have different functions, and even with a fairly high sperm cell count humans have some pretty bad luck with pregnancy. On an actual hardware level induced ovulation is the more robust reproduction model but it doesn't mesh well with primate promiscuity.

Edit: That is, no "internal competition" for the best sperm, no inferior males "accidentally" raising infants that aren't their own (which led immediately to the development of monogamy), etc.
