I love TNG because generally Lt. Leforge just has to remodulate the plasma photon inhibitor to initiate the anti-matter conduit graph so that the relayed partical accelerator can access the ships subatomic matrix array!

Yes I'm bored, but I want to hear why you love TNG. I also just finished watching like, 4 episodes in a row. :o

When I was young it was my favorite show, but with the reruns on Spike TV my opinion has shifted towards Ds9 claiming the title of best Trek. However, Picard and Data are the best characters in the history of the franchise.

It has the best characters out of any of the series', especially Data and Picard. I actually haven't seen the last TNG movie, because I heard what happened to Data, I refuse to spend money to see it.

I absolutely LOVE TNG. It's my favorite TV series of all time. I wish there was another series just like it, in the same timeframe roughly, with the same creative and in-depth stories and characters.. It just had a charm about it that cannot be found anymore.

I own the season DVD's and watch them constantly. I lvoe TNG.

Very strong characters is the most obvious. There wasn't a continuous story, but that was okay. There are many episodes with underlying moral or philosophical themes, such as the Drumhead episode and that one where Crusher gets captured by the terrorists on that one planet.

TOS was loaded with morality themes. DS9 does the same thing often, but also has that nice continuous story. Voyager was basically..."Let's go home! Hey, we found a way! It could work! Aww...it didn't work" and "I am a Vulcan who stares into space while operating his console, thus making everyone think I am blind" and "Maybe we can go home with we have tea with the Borg!" and "Captain the Borg won't negotiate!" and "This is MY ship, go back to your teepee!" and "omg rofls I like cartoons and 20th century cars" and "I'm not really a Klingon but I like to pretend" and "I am trying to reassimilate into humanity, take off your clothes" and "I'm an annoying cook on a ship loaded with food replicators! I got on board because I wanted to take a bath!" and "I'm shorter than Counselor Troi, not as effective, not as cool and nowhere near as hot" and...yeah.

Picard really. That guy is a damn fine actor. I remember him professing Shakespeare to a Ferengi ship to get Troi's mom back. And yeah. The aforementioned episodes kicked ***. Although write off S1 some of S2 and some of S7.

You forgot about Enterprise!
"YOU SHOT MY SHIP! OHHH YOU GONNA PAY FOR THIS NOW ****ER!"
"I am a principled and moral man. But I swear by God if you ever **** with us again, I'm going to cut off your balls or equivilant thereof and shove them out the airlock!"
"Pffft. Drugs. One wiff of this <some bug or plant> pharamone and you're good as new!"
"I reckon this here warp doohicky is deadder than Lincoln's reelection chances! By the way, you're might purdy there Vulcan lady"
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Really the cast and the writers. Some of it so simple yet great TV. Never got tired of seeing Data trying to act, them roleplaying in the holodeck, or Picard listening to music in his quarters. So simple - yet it worked because the characters were so strong it was belieavable.

And who could forget Spot!!!!

Seriously, Picard and Data. I haven't actually seen that much of the show, so I can't comment on Warf, but Data is one of the best characters in any show/movie I have ever seen. And Picard is badass in his own Shakespeare-loving way.

Yeah, that and the fact that great acting was coupled with some very interesting plots that mirrored concerns and debates of our own time.

I've gotta agree here. I have too many fond memories of that show for anything to surpass it. Ever. I'm told I started watching when I was 3 years old, just to see the ship zoom around in the opening credits. Happy days.

You can't say anything bad about the doctor! He was a good character.

Of course, that's why I left him out! The Doctor was one of the best characters from ANY Star Trek series. He was Voyager's only saving grace.

BRENT SPINER + PATRICK STEWART = HOT.

Those two ROCKED. yarrr.

I love the episodes where Brent Spiner actually plays other characters, like A Fistful of Datas, where Data reoccurs as various villainous characters on the holodeck.
TNG sucked when the uniforms didn't have collars.
In defense of these eariler days, there was one episode that rocked hard. I can't remember the name or season, but the uniforms were tight and collarless. It was that one where these worm-parasite things were trying to take control of the Federation. Picard and Riker end up finding 'the queen' at Starfleet HQ, and blow her up with their phasers, but not before she sends a message off to the others of her species.

I always thought that this would have been perfect to follow up in a movie.
