I find it somewhere beteween ironic and sad that when people say 'drinking' they automatically mean that as 'getting piss-drunk, making an utter *** of yourself, worshipping the percelein goddess all night, and then having a horrible hangover the next morning'.

i"ve known people who have been exchange students here from like europe and such, and when people say oh we're going drinking this weekend or after class or whatever theyre just like.. wtf.. having it as a dedicated intensive activity seemed so bizarre to them, the ones i've known at least, i'm sure there are non-americans who go drunking as well.

There's this funny thing called moderation. I have really no problem with like a glass of wine with a meal, or a beer [hough it has to be good bottled stuff, most canned is horrible, i believe it's a newcastle nut-brown ale and variants thereof that is fairly popular among some people i know] during a game of pool, or whatever sorta thing y'know. But just because i 'drink', doesn't mean i think sucking down half a keg and getting so blasted i can't remmeber what happened the next day is a great time, quite to the contrary actually.
