Damn.

Even I wasn't that good at 10 years old, and I was known as the pick pocket of the school.

Of course, I never really did anything THAT serious, just screwed around with me friends.

Maybe...

I don't want to think abou that...horrible movie, IIRC.

Oh, and wow. That is amazing for a 10 year old. Probably found the stuff to make it online or something because...just wow. That looks good.
I had a blog. It sucked.

What type of sentences could these 4th graders get for such a large crime? That's really insane.

I wonder, if they didn't use a $20 (like a $10 instead) it would go unnoticed in that one incident.

Damn. 10 years old.

Meh, saw it about 4 years ago, don't remember it well. I thought it sucked, tried to hard to be Home Alone (which also sucked, even though it's popular. I occasionally watch HA).

Yeah. Me too.

No big deal, and I'm not suprised someone did it.

You're supposed to run them through the dryer once or twice to make the paper feel right. Or so I've heard.
2005-12-15, 11:06 PM #20
Well, the paper is never going to feel QUITE right because money-paper is way more complicated than paper-paper.
Warhead[97]
2005-12-15, 11:11 PM #21
Not really. You could get a nice heavy cotton blend paper for resumes, use water fast ink (epson) and then soak and dry the paper after cumpling it. Then use an iron to make it "mostly" flat, and you'd have pretty much the same tactile array of a dollar.

Counterfiet money is best suited to go into machines, either for change, or for something like a subway ticket. Not going to be caught that way.

Counterfeiting is one of the most harshly punished crimes around, the government don't like it... a murder or something is attacking the surface of society... counterfeiting is attacking the governments own cogs of society, they hate that.

That's pretty hardcore for a kid.

I think I was obsessed with Mortal Kombat when I was ten.

Yeah, nowadays, money has a bazillion security features to make it pretty much impossible to pass to a SMART cashier.

I always used to buy lunches with 20's... :S

That's what came out of the ATM when my folks gave me lunch money and it was my responisibility to spread it out over the week.

...and wait, maybe this kid is poor and couldn't afford lunch otherwise. Let me guess, they refused to give him lunch that day?

I've handled some really well made counterfeit bills, and even though they looked perfect, the moment you pick the up you can feel the difference in weight in rigidness and easily tell that it's fake.

And yeah, you know something's a serious crime when it falls under the jurisdiction of the secret service.
2005-12-16, 1:54 PM #29
Not really. Aside from protect the president/former presidents, all they do is investigate counterfeiting.

It doesn't only "attack" the government. It "attacks" businesses, people, etc. I doubt anyone who be happy to get worthless money.

except the real paper they use for US currency has red and blue fibers in it, that would be quite difficult to fake for the average novice.

The new money designs have that security thread, too.

Because money paper is a fabric and not actually paper...

Precisely why I said it's a serious crime, when it's important enough to be their only other duty.
