Never took it, but I still like bragging about my 1560 on the old SAT.

I like bragging about my 34 out of 36 on the ACT

33 for me.

My bragging point is that I got a 35 on the math section without a calculator. I had one with me, but I thought it would be more of a challenge to do the whole section without it...

Wow, I'd be pretty happy with that if I were you

94th percentile is hardly bad, good lord!

I don't remember what I got last year, I think it was something like...

94
76
99

I think I did better on the math this year though. :o
2005-12-15, 9:43 PM #14
This was years ago, but I got a 218, which made me a National Merit... Semifinalist. I think it was probably all those Ds on my transcript.
2005-12-15, 11:14 PM #15
I had a 236 on the PSAT. 1580 with my second try on the SAT.

Being a national merit finalist unfortunately didn't help me any with the school I ended up going to.
2005-12-15, 11:39 PM #16
I took the PSAT like 8 years ago. I don't remeber what I got on it.
Pissed Off?

i like bragging about the fact that the PSAT or SAT means absolutley nothing, cause I am quite successful right now in college, and with internships and all that, and I wasnt in the 80% percentile for anything...except math.

PSAT means nothing. Neither does SAT. Just gets you to a name college. How much you apply after that determines your future.

Ubuu is absolutely right. I should mention that I failed out of college in just one semester.

Vornskr: What did you get on the first try, if you don't mind me asking?

I never thought I'd say this, but Ubuu ftw.

I got commended student last year, but I am not sure what my scores were.
2005-12-16, 1:35 PM #21
First try was around 1500...

They really are meaningless, though. Once you're in college nobody cares, and all schools are almost equally good anyway. For the most part, anyway.

Hot off the press PSAT Score: 222

Massive improvement over last year...

I took it sophomore year and got a 2060, so I didn't bother to take it again this year. If I was better in math that grade would've been closer to 2300 probably, as I totally pwned the reading and writing sections.

I took it when I was 12 and got 90th percentile. Now I'm a fourteen year old high school sophomore - and my birthday's not until June.

I'm a National Merit Semi-Finalist... Waiting a couple months more for finalist announcements ;). Good luck, Pommy.
2005-12-16, 9:16 PM #26
For some reason I keep checking this thread to see if my results have arrived yet. :S

That should put you into Semi-Finalist range... Last year's index was 217.

Since we are doing acedemic penis size here, yet again, I'm 19 and in medical school. Comon, I know we got ourselves a freaking 15 year old nuclear physicist. Also, it's the internet. I could say I was all PSAT 99th percentile, a NMS, 1600 SAT, 45 MCAT, 1600 GRE, ect, ect... but since there was no way of verifying, why does it matter?

Now, I'm an idiot on the forums, so that all pretty much doesn't matter.

Also, yes, Ubuu wins.
2005-12-16, 10:24 PM #29
Got a 200. Missed National Merit (commended) by two points.
2005-12-17, 12:42 PM #30
Of course, I agree with Ubuu and Ictus... your score is only a means to an end, and after high school it fails to factor in to anything, really. But don't ignore it completely; when combined with my grades + that silly essay, my PSAT score meant I was a finalist, which meant I got a full ride worth a lot of money (but from a crappy state school in northwest Ohio... but because I'm majoring in art, where I go doesn't matter so much as how I apply myself, so I guess it works out in the end). My point is, pay enough attention to it so you can put yourself in a good position and get where you want to go; after that it's useless.

I can't remember my PSAT score, but I got a 30 on my ACT. I scored a 35 in Reading and a 34 in English, but completely ****ed up the Math and Science sections. The funny part is, I'm (currently) in an engineering program.
