Is Maddox loosing it?
2004-05-31, 2:48 PM #1
I've been reading the recent messages on Maddox's website, and is it me, or has he lost his heart in it? The material isn't as good as it use to be, and with the last few, at most I got maybe a smile out of it, much less a laughing out loud, hold onto my ribs cause it hurts stuff. Anyone else here thinking he is running out of material, or just doesn't care anymore?

That's the thing, he hasn't done e-mail in a while. Not to mention he knows when it's fake. And I love the material.

I just don't find his material funny anymore. It's not the "slowing down", its the actual material.

I think he's still hilarious--maybe you've just been reading so long it all seems the same. It's more of a shock value thing, so I think he's slowing down so that it sinks in more. His latest one was still great IMO.

I'm still loving it. The Chappelle Show article was great, as was his abortion article. His review of Dawn of the Dead is what got my friend to go see it.

What do you mean he hasn't done anything with email? Did you not read the April Fool's article, "How do you dumbasses manage to breath?"

Real take-no-prisoners satire gets boring after a while, because it all boils down to "You ****ing morons!"

Imagine my surprise when I stopped laughing at SA...

The thing is though is I haven't read every single article he has written in the past 5 or so years. But when I read random articles from his old stuff, I will fall over laughing, even when I've never read them. I've chuckled a few times, but the last 2 I think just plain suck. Maybe cause I don't watch The Chappelle show (I just never got around to it, though I hear its hilarious), and I don't shop at CompUSA. The Segway was the last time I really balled out in tears laughing.

The Chappelle Show article was funny to me, because I relate to it. Whenever a new episode airs, the next day at school, EVERYONE says the funniest quotes at least 30 times. By the time school ends, I never want to hear those quotes again. Then I started hearing it everywhere! I heard it at the movies, the mall, even these forums! (thanks Keiran!)

I don't know, THRAWN. Maybe Chappelle isn't as popular in your area, or maybe the people where you live understand how not to kill a joke.

Well, I might here them and just not know it. I don't watch the show so I don't hear quotes.

I don't think he's losing it. I think he just doesn't have the time anymore. He works alot and has to go to school. He said in his last update that he had finals this week, so I'm sure he's been really busy.

He might be 'losing' it but he certainly isn't it 'loosing' it.

Someone should send him a link to this thread actually. He would have a field day with the title.

"Is Maddox loosing it?"

Call me crazy, but I wasn't aware it was possible to "loose" something.

I'm not exactly sure if I despise Maddox or adore his "truths". I do agree with some of his stuff (Dave Chappelle article), but some of the other stuff I don't agree on.

I do love the pictures he draw though like these....

Joke, btw.

Wow.

Is it really necessary to degrade THRAWN like that for hitting the 'o' key accidentally one more time? Or maybe your cleverness is just beyond me.

Either term can be used really because both say the same thing sort of. Maybe by loosing, I meant definition 7.

Not to mention, last time I checked, the admins and moderators hated spelling/grammar Nazis.

In being a fault-finding, degrading cynic who builds himself up by tearing others down? Yes.

Guilty as charged on all counts of being a cynic. But I don't tear others down. I point out flaws and poke fun at them. It's not serious. Chill out.

It's actually funny, how true it is. I can't spell, at all. But really, if you're posting something about maddox, you better hope your posts are ****ing perfect, and you swear like 10 times, else you're defeating the purpose.
