Uh..yeah? I have that, except it's last year's version and isn't special edition, AND OH MY GOD IT'S WIDESCREEN. GOD STRIKE ME DOWN.

They have the original trilogy on DVD, widescreen? Why do I not see this anywhere else?

Yeah I seen this today at a local Music world CD store.. I was like WTF?!?! cuz I never knew they had it out and it was only 40 bucks.

... wait... what? It's just the same Trilogy on DVD as the gold and silver boxes in different packaging... They still have the Special Edition in them...

It amazes me how Lucas issues this (completely pointless) boxset, but didn't bother with 1-3 prequel or 1-6 saga boxsets.

not yet, because episode 3 by itself is selling well, and the ot boxset is still selling.

from a business perspective, it's obviously smarter to wait until the rots dvd sales drop to about nothing, then release a prequel boxset, then when that, and the ot boxset, drop, release a saga boxset.

it's similar to what LotR did with their boxsets and extended editions

Can someone enlighten me unto what is so amazing with this item? When I bought the trilogy last year(?) it already was the widescreen edition. Who would take anything else?

They've had the OT box set out for a while. I got it in widescreen.

As for the prequels, I will probably get them just to complete the set some time.
