Hi!
I have made a looping melody for JK, 1min and 19sec, and it is only 14kb. Can anyone guess my secret? If you can, you get... Eh... You get.... Eh... Hm... Hang on! *rumages among his stuff* Byhåla2... Nah... Farbror Frej? Nah... The Grinch? Nah... Ah, yes! You'll be the first ones to try a level of mine! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Eh, I don't know if you can go that small, But I've goten 40 second clips down to 240 KB.

Time compression, Go into goldwave. speed up your clip to double or triple speed. Have a music cog slow it down. Thats what SM_Sith_lord did in his. I discovered this technique later. Genius stuff really, Give it a try.

One trick is to get a number of very simple, very small looping tracks, and write a cog to play them all at different times and durations to make a melody.

It's 8-bits at 8000 Hz, right? That's high-quality!

Genesis 22:2-5 - And God said unto Abraham "You must kill your son, Isaac." And Abraham said "What? I can't hear you! You'll have to speak into the microphone." And God said "Check, check, check, check. Jerry, can you pull the high end out. I'm getting some hiss up here."

OK. The answere is... DeTRiTiC-iQ's thought and as simple as Matthew Pate's. You do know that MIDI ain't possible is JK, right?
It was very simple! 2 samples. One 720bytes, low, looping, 7802hz, 16-bit. Another, 750bytes, bit higher, looping, 16531hz, 16-bit. Then an extra sound, 1322bytes 8000hz, 8-bit, looping, as tempo. Then a larger COG that pitched the things. Worked from, Result.

So, DeTRiTiC-iQ will be the one to get 1st prize! Stand by your mailbox for a big package!

[Edit: Oh, answer's here. No prize for me, then. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]]
