They tend usually only to have blonde on tap, but I find most supermarkets have bottles of brune as well as blonde. I've only ever had Radieuse and Vielle Cuvee when in Belgium, and even then I've not seen Triple.

Have you seen that Heineken mini-keg? Freaking 1 and 1/3 gallons of beer. It's not as skunky and it makes for a good night.

I like so many different beers. My favorite is from a local mocrobrew/ale house here in Berkeley. All their beers are so fresh and tasty.

I've been drinking Stella Artois exclusively since I've been home for the holidays.

I've got too many beers that I enjoy to list them all, however.

What the hell is wrong with American beer? So what if it's light and watery... it still gets you drunk and for a hell of alot cheaper.

I used to drink nothing but heineken, killians, and corona but now I'll take a Bud Light. Cause I can get a 12 pack for the same price as a 6 pack of all those other beers and it gets me the same buzz... so I'll take the cheap ****.

When I worked at a bar it seemed all the college kids looking to get drunk would order Budweiser and Coors Light, while the people looking for something to just drink with a meal and enjoy would order a Bass or a Sam Adams....and all the women got Corona Light. /runs

Aussie beer is better than anything anyone can import.

Forget Fosters, we export that because it's crap. We keep the good stuff for ourselves. Boags, Cascade, Coopers - that's where it's at.

If I'm only having one drink for the evening, I'll have some expensive beer that is actually enjoyable to drink, like Abbotts or Lancaster Blonde.
If I'm getting smashed, I'll crack out the Dolly mixtures (I think they're also called Fat Frogs); Smirnoff Ice + Orange Breezer (or alternately Reefer) + blue WKD + a shot of vodka. They don't usually mix them at the bar, so you'll probably have to buy it individually and mix it equally into two pint glasses (all together about £8 or £9 usually). Two of those will do you for an evening.
Failing that, Snakebites (lager + cider + blackcurrant squash) do you well.

I know it's a joke, but it's also complete bull****. Not all American beers are Budweiser.

Corona would be a decent enough beer, except it comes in those damn clear glass bottles and that lets in enough light to ruin the beer's flavor. Beer is best left in the dark brown bottles that are nearly opaque.

I think such jokes come from the low quality of most major breweries, i.e. Budweiser. Smaller American labels are much better. Infact, most places you go, smaller labels are probably better. Usually.

I generally start by drinking good beer, and then I break out the budweiser when I'm too wasted to tell the difference between it and good beer.

My favorite beer is probably La Fin Du Monde, or pretty much anything made by Unibrue. When people talk about how Canadian beers are better they aren't talking about Molson - they're talking about French-Canadian beer.

I also enjoy Strongbow. Heineken has a deliciously proteiny aftertaste and holds a head. A Marca Bavaria is the Kool-Aid of beer: It's okay to give to kids and it isn't bad on a hot day. Kokanee is 'okay' - it's too expensive to drink just to get drunk, and it's not quite good enough that you'd want to drink it for the flavor.

I've also had a ton of amazingly good British microbrewery beers. British beer seems to be increasingly dominated by the stout though, which I'm not a fan of. Guiness tastes like cold coffee to me.
2005-12-29, 9:54 AM #39
I've got a taste for Strongbow, but that's cider. Beer, I'll normally settle with Grolsch or Fosters. Budweiser is rank and Stella is overrated.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.
