Are you referring to the previous mistake where they were tlaking about new next gen AGP cards, and then came forward with the mistake? I belive that article goes over it..

IF they made another SAME mistake, that's pretty sad.

And is NVidia doing the same? http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/index.php?redir=http://www.auspcmarket.com.au/show_product_info.php?input[product_code]=VI-VGSPAG42SD3&input[category_id]=1173

look at the date of the first article... october 6th...

and 6800 is NOT nvidia's newest... and the 6800 series has had agp models from the start

you lose (and so does everyone else with an AGP slot including me :( )

So...is the 6800 GT 256 MB The BEST possible AGP card available?

I'm buying one shortly.. I just have put it off several months as I want to see if anything newer and better comes out or is coming out..

That, or ATIs X series equivalent.

Ok, yeah, thanks for clarifying that. I was just about to ask if the 6800 GT or GT OC or Ultra which of the three was better.

Thanks :)

Then don't waste your money, save up, and get your own. Seriously, to drop money on a 300 dollar 6800 Ultra when 7800GT's are less than that, and a motherboard/cpu/RAM is around that, is just silly.

I will be making more than enough money in a few months to make my own supercomputer then. For hte time being, I want a graphics card to tide me over. I dont intend on using the 6800 Forever, maybe a year or 2, until it runs games crappy, and then I'll just build my own comptuer then. I am in no rush to have an OMGAWESOME vidfeo card that can run everything at super framerates with every minute detail turned on.

As long as it runs more recent games decently, I am very satisfied and can wait.

That, and I've seen 6800 Ultras sell for 170 CANADIAN on Ebay..

Good for you? That's sheer dumb luck. All I see is 340-400 on eBay.ca with a quick search. If you preyed on that place, yeah, you probably would see some deals like that, but I don't know how you can have that kind of time.

I'm just saying that you could build a decent system for another 500ca that would thrash the one you have. Talking 3700+ San Diego, 1gb PC3200 RAM, and a 7800GT along with a decent mobo (though I'd want to search around a bit more as I don't know canadian prices in general, I built a quick one for ~1000 to those specs).

I agree yoshi. But my reasoning is that tehre will be newer and better things that can be bought with the money I will have in the coming months that outdate anything out now. Or even in a year or so.

As I said, I am in no rush to have an OMFGWTFBBQ system.
