You closed a thread which was short.. so you get a new topic thats a discussion about it! Before you neglect to really read what I have typed.. consider this idea.. Structure the profile system to be public.. Withn a private (logged in community) to do a messaging system back and forth between members. I think this idea will cut down on personal related posts that end up getting deleted. Now that I have your intrest read on.
I mean.. I hear of them.. I dont really see them that much, I hear people get yelled at for posting in the wrong topic.. I hear people getting yelled at for adding in personal information.. so what if people know who I am? this is a discussion forum right?
this is what it says under discussion forum... General Discussion about anything and everything allowed by the rules.
Make sure you're posting on the correct board. If you have an editing question, it goes on the editing board. If there's a forum specifically for your topic, make sure to post it there. If it doesn't fit anywhere else, put it in the general discussion board. So contacting someone unkown of thier e-mail is a wrong choice?
If you have a personal issue, keep it personal. We don't want our forums clogged up with posts specifically for one person. If it can be handled over email, take it to email. For it to be personal, you would have to know the person in person right? this being the net and as private as it is. how could relations of working or talking of a project be personal, when the sw community itself is involved?
I mean, all i would want is arkons e-mail. My last one had its password changed. http://forums.massassi.net/html/Forum3/HTML/002072.html there is a post no one replied to. I mean I know what I have to do now.. Just if you had persay lost very important school work.. Needed someones e-mail.. when yours was destroyed by a relative messing around on your computer.. fried your HD with a virus.. lets say this was a admin to a regular member.. of course it would get deleted because of rules right?
So if this did happen.. and its important, "We don't want our forums clogged up with posts specifically for one person." would applie to everyone. as my drill sergant had said.. "suck it up soilder, rules are rules.. disobey them and you get a swift kick in the butt.." So to follow and obey a rule, one must enforce as well aprehend right? If admins want to contact regular members in my case, I am just a regular member wanting to contact another. Its not allowed to bring my personal issues in here. Seeing I dont have issues.. This is were I get a big headache from all of this BS confusion of messed up rules..
In a way I would say massassi rules are flawed and in itself a oxymoron. Buhtthe thing I was getting to say was.. if admins post personal info on the discussion board.. refering to a member.. about information of them lossing thier e-mail password, it being a lost cause, losing contact information.. or IM related contacts.. they need to make a new e-mail, be devious and post a personal message in a thread related to the topic rules.. the admin would get no penalties but the member would?
Wow.. what a life we live! I would go with the rules on sucking it up.. Pick away at this thread my prittys.. I think this calls for ideas on making the member system more user friendly.. such as personal messengeing... so.. "we have want our forums clogged up with posts specifically for one person." its time consuming as it is saving on memory/traffic space.. I wounder what I will come up with next... peace out!
