Ever played Duke Nukem 3d? Whadja think?

I just d/led the shareware last night; reminds me vaguely of Dark Forces... maybe I should install that, too, since I have VDMSound now...

Post some other old games that were good.

Sim City the original not Sim City Classic... the original's sound is PC speaker so it's even more "old skool"

Castle Wolfenstein, Beyond Castle Wolfenstein of course trying to play them... they run so fast even on my 486 that they are unplayable

Pirates... another old classic

the Space Quest games... you want old skool... imagine a game that maxes out at 16 colors... and even supports 2 COLOR MONITORS... then looking at the $3 price tag i wanted to laugh... as much as i'd love to have space quest 2.. just... NO

now for the not quite so old skool...

Full Throttle.. excellent game... if you have not played it YOU NEED TO

I had this thing for DOOM for the longest time. I had a crappy machine that only played it a frame or so a second. It was horrible, but fun at the same time. Now, I don't thihk I could ever go back to that.

not exactly old skool but also not exactly new...

Requiem: Avenging Angel

you play as an angel sent to earth so while you have the standard FPS weapons you also get cool powers... my favorite is To Salt

and even if you are a bit on the weird side you can use ressurect to bring enemies back to life so you can kill them again... or if you want... so you can posess them and run around shooting enemies with their weapons

Yes! I used to love that game. The graphics were also really good for the time. The first level really sucked (The one where you're in hell) but the others were fun.

I've seen it both ways. I think "Viet Nam" is trying to stay truer to the choppier Vietnamese words, and "Vietnam" may just be a little more Americanized. I'm probably wrong, but I do know I've seen it written both ways.

same thing with "moslem" and "muslim", and a few others I don't remember at the moment.
"moslem" is an older spelling and "muslim" is the current "updated" one

Shame on all of you.

Tetris. 1987 Game Boy version.

Best game ever. I've poured MONTHS of my life into that game. My record number of lines is 144... that day was like a dream. Oh so giddy.

That, and Lemmings for the old DOS 6.0? 5.something maybe, computers. That was one helluva game.

Months? No years? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

Sorry, I have to brag...

I've played One Must Fall 2097 for I think close to 10 years now.

That score is from a couple years ago, and since then I've gone out of practice quite a bit. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif] I *think* I got it so high by getting a perfect round against Ice... I don't remember.

Duke Nukem 3D was and still is one of the greatest games ever. The atmosphere (especially on the first and third episode) is great... I also liked Shadow Warrior, Dark Forces, TIE Fighter etc.

I used to have this old DOS game called chomp, where you played a goldfish. The game was horrendously buggy, but still fun to play.

It seemed to have a problem managing buffers, b/c it would just hang spontaneously.

I'll ftp the disk in case anyone wants to check it out. it easily fits on a floppy.
