Attack of the Show, Call for Help, or Screen Savers?
2006-01-01, 12:47 PM #1
Which one of these is the best?

Personally, I didn't really like Screen Savers or Call for Help. Attack of the Show, although some parts stupid, some of it is actually quite good and interesting. It just seems a lot more appealing to me since I don't really know oodles of computer languages, or things of the sort. I know how to use my programs, I figure stuff out on my own, I'm not into the whole downloading programs to make your desktop have a cool agenda toolbar or something. Attack of the show has lot more gaming related things, and Happy Tree Friends on TELEVISION is awesome.

Post opinions on the show of your choice.
Very funny Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

TechTV went to hell after G4 bought it.

I liked it back when Ziff Davis owned it. Its not the same channel anymore. Does the name 'Erica Hill' ring a bell? :o
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

TechTV and G4 both went to hell when they merged. I used to watch G4 back when they only had like, three shows, and as hard as it may be to believe, they were actually good.

Then they bought TechTV and now both channels suck.
Moo.

I stopped watching after the whole G4 thing happened. Back in the day, though, I loved watching Call for Help.

Call For Help was excellent, Screensavers was genius, and Attack of the Show is a blasphemy to all that is sacred. Seriously. Stop watching. Now.

Cheat and Arena both suck too.

I don't know what is the purpose of "Cheat" show. If you wanted codes and stuff, wouldn't it be best to just go online?

"Arena" is all the fun of watching your friend playing a game that you are not allowed to touch. I get the experience of "Arena" very often. It's called "holy crap, I got shot by an AWP for the third time in a row and need to go to FREAKIN' SPECTATOR mode."

I like Icons though.

Arena used to be good, when Wil Wheaton and that fat guy were the hosts. They had great chemistry, which made for some great announcing. But, then the show went for a more extreme look, and those two said, "screw this, we're leavin'!"

Cheat has always sucked.

The only shows I like on G4 now are Judgement Day and X-Play. Icons is sometimes good, too.

I watch Icons when I see it, the Tetris one was one of the most interesting things I've seen on TV in a while, and the new Call for Help (The canadian TV one) is pretty good, although not as good as the old Tech TV one. Other than that, I never watch g4, I just listen to TWiT and remember the good ol' days.

X-Play's a TechTV show, and it er...shows. Judgement Day is actually the only show they have I don't mind, though Icons is good sometimes.

I subscribe to X-Play via iTunes and watch them on my iPod, but other than that, the channel is an insult. The Screensavers and Call For Help were both great, but TSS was the better show.

If you miss good tech shows, you should watch/listen to Diggnation, Digital Life, Infected, Inside The Net, KFI Tech Guy, Security Now, Systm, The Broken, and This Week in Tech.

Yeah, I know X-Play is a TechTV show. It's just easier to refer to the channel as G4 instead of the full G4TechTV.

Call for Help.

Currently though it's Call for Help, G4TV.com, and Brainiac. I rarely watch any of them though.

you mean Gamespot TV shortly after the name change to extended play they ditched kate and it was adam only

anyway screensavers FTW... now with the name change and the ditching of the old people it's just a broken shell of it's former self
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Pat and Leo FTW!

AotS sucks.

G4 Pretty much sucks. Although Judgment Day isn't too bad.

Tommy Tallarico actually admitted he doesn't like G4 either (he spent the past couple days on IGN's message boards, posting in a thread that started as a bash against him... it's passed 1024 posts in like 3 days, and in that thread he admitted it.

ANYWAY...

I was searching for an old photoshop tutorial from TSS, and found one on G4's site, and watched the video of it.

It was back when they still had the fridge and the magnets and such. I seriously almost cried. I miss it!

X-Play, Judgement Day, and Icons.

I've even gotten my Dad who doesn't play ANY video games nor care about them to watch Icons. It's an interesting show.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I spend free time playing games, not watching TV about them.

Neither.

TWIT FTW.

TWIT FTW.

I seriously hope you're kidding. TWIT is but a sad substitute for what The ScreenSavers and Call For Help used to be.

Call for help is amazing to watch (Yes, it's still on.) and I love X-Play and icons.

But that's about it. I hate attack of the show, cheat and filter. I espescially hate filter. It's all about Final Fantasy 7.
