Scam or not (downloadable software)?
2006-01-01, 9:35 PM #1
my dad has been getting spam about this certain website: morozware.com. the site supposedly sells software by receiving payment, and then giving instructions on how to download the software. he was wondering if this site was legitimate, and i immediately told him that it was all bull****. however, in retrospect, im not so sure. i googled "morozware" to see if this site had gained infamy like PriceRitePhoto, but the search didnt result in any conclusions. the site's sketchy as hell though in that the search function doesnt work and they use graphics from amazon.com.

so what do you think? scam or not?

Look totally legit to me. Have a terms and about us page and everything.

"We offer the software for downloading only, it means that you do not receive a fancy package, a printed manual and license that actually aggregate the largest part of the retail price."

Note the part about no license. Basically means your **** out of luck for any Adobe software, Windows software, or anything else.

I wouldn't touch this with a 50 foot pole.

I try to avoid downloadable software like the plague. Get me a CD with written documentation over a downloadable executable any day of the week.

Hmmm... I read the FAQ. No refunds and up to a 24 hour wait after purchase to be able to download the software. I'll pass for sure.

Also note the complete lack of company/contact information on the entire site, that is usually a clue :)

Am I the only person who was turned off by the fact the site's name is very close to having 'warez' in it?

Oh, and you all make good points - I'm not even clicking the link.
