Quite a cat. Of course the real reason the cat called 911 was the fact he was afraid he would lose his food supply if anything happened to the man.

Nonsense. There was this woman about a year ago (ok, this sounds like an urban legend already) with 9 cats and a dog or something like that. She collapsed and...
The cats ate her.
And killed the dog.

If they have no food, a cat will eat it's owner. A dog will starve to death.

It's really a tradeoff between intelligence and loyalty.

But what if the dog is aware it could eat its owner but chooses not to? I'd rather starve to death than eat my collegues when stranded on a mountain, and that doesn't mean I'm dumb.

It's hard to say what you would do in a life or death situation that you rally have no personal experiences to comapre to.

I think I'd eat people if I had to.

This is true, but not really the point. Let's just say I chose NOT to eat my collegues. It's not a matter of intelligence or capacity.
