I think they can take a picture with angled mirrors. in a circular pattern.

hmm. im not sure, but quicktime VR is based on rendering a square room-like thing i think, with different pictures for the tiles of each wall of the room... each wall has a certain number of tiles...

sorry, im kinda drunk right now and dont have energy/am too lazy to uhhhhhhhhh explain it to you in full.

just go to the panorama, click on introduction from the dropdown menu on the upper right hand corner, then click on the banner image again that gets you to the panorama quicktime VR. then while the quicktime VR is loading, you can see the tiles of the walls loading.,.,.

i thought it was done with a bulb-shaped mirror and a really high megapixel camera?

anyways.. cool.
