I'm tempted to buy HOMM5 (under 20 bucks pre-order)..the graphics look great, but I haven't played any of the series before. Is it worth buying?

I loved HOMM3 it was amazing, so addictive. I didn't find 4 so good, i'm not sure if it was a worse game or if i was just bored of it by then. As for 5, not a clue :p didn't even know there was one, might be somethin to check out tho.

I played the first for a year straight, then played the 2nd and 3rd. It gets boring after a long time, but it's an interesting series. Haven't seen anything about this newest one though.

It's supposed to be a blend between 3 and 4 -- for 20 bucks, I might pick it up..list is $50 - I'll actually have a new game when it comes out..lol..

The only M&M-games I've played were M&M IV and V. They were great. You could combine them to form a new game.

Heroes of Might and Magic != Might and Magic.

5 isn't out yet.


I like how the battles are 3d. I hope it keeps the same combat system though.

I might give it a shot..my brother will probably like it even if I don't. :p

My brother plays the 3rd all the time. He's recently recieved Guild Wars, however, and put it aside.

I used to play 3 all the time. Still got it around somewhere, I think. Never played the first two, though, and only the demo of the 4th, but it's a good series.

HOMM 3 is one of the best games of all time. HOMM 4 - bleh. I didn't like the isometric perspective and the pre-rendered 3D look, and the battles were a lot less fun. The castles and enemies felt a little random as well.

But you're gotten me curious with HOMM 5... I should look it up. I wasn't expecting a new one because 3DO (the developer - I think) went out of business.

Ubisoft is doing this one.
