Fastest time you've completed a portion of a game.

Basically yeah, post the fastest time you've completed a portion of a game.

I've done E1M1 in about 11 Secs, I've seen a video of one guy doing it at 9 and it's just insane.

I've also gotten to level 5 in WoW on my newest Troll Shaman, Stinkywrix on Smolderthorn in 27 minutes.

I'm pretty sure I've set some kind of record.

I've completed the first level of Shadows of the Empire in... 2 minutes 59 seconds. That might be the only level I always play to try beat my record by finishing it faster.

Heh, reminds me of the ninth Zerg mission in Broodwar. If you completed it before the timer is under 10 minutes (of 30) you got a bonus-mission. My friends always thought you had to do it in under 10 minutes. So they played and played and never managed to do it. They got close, but never managed to do it under 10 minutes. Frustrated they instantly restarted the mission without realising, that they had to do it in under 20 minutes, not 10...

I would be impressed, but you rolled a Shaman. So with that decision goes any shred of veneration I might have had :p

A few times, I actually got through the "Falling Ship" level in JK before the ship hit the bottom and asploded. Does that count?

The mission is only real fun on hard, where you have to take the secret way.

Fastest that I can remember:

- I completed Sonic the Hedgehog 3 on my first try in only 2 hours.
- In WoW, I got a orc warrior to level 14 in a single day.
- In WoW, I got a human mage to level 30 in two weeks.
- In WoW, on average, I can get any class to level 6 in about 45 mins to an hour.
- On average, I usually complete every FPS I get in less than two days.
- I completed Elite Force 2 in a single day (took about 12 hours of non-stop playing though)
- Only takes 45 mins to complete Kirby's Dreamland (the very first game on the GB)

There are probably other games I've speed run though before but I sadly don't remember them and if I did, I don't remember the time taken :(

I remember that weird game! Fun stuff. But I also remember falling way too fast as Mario (compared to other Mario games). :(

I remember completing all of Banjo-Kazooie in under 5 days -- I had rented it. I can also get through parts of Paper Mario for the Gamecube pretty damn fast, not counting if I use the "Danger Mario" technique.

I have a friend who nearly completed Ocarina of Time when he got it opening day in 24 hours (nearly completing = beating and getting nearly all the heart pieces/quest stuff).

Bull****. Not with the water temple. He cheated!
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Stinkywrix -- I know, I have that site bookmarked :) I love their stuff. It's amazing what some of these people can do.

JediGandalf -- he's pretty hardcore. If he put the time into it, he could easily be like one of the speedrunners on the site Stinkywrix posted. With that said, that site has someone being OoT in under 5 hours, sew.... yeah.

Fable in under 4 hours (but who hasn't?)

Tales of Symphonia in... 17, maybe? I don't remember the exact number (I've had a gameplay timer running for 4 playthroughs).

Metroid Prime and Final Fantasy 8 can be completed in roughly comparable lengths of time. I can't remember my records though, but I think they were under 10 hours. Gotta love games where your power level is based on map memorization and rote learning.

I beat the Facility level in Goldeneye on 00 Agent in 1:38 seconds; SHATTERING the time limit of 2:05 to get the invincability cheat. Only did it once, have never been able to do it again. I could also do the Archives level real quick, like 25 seconds I believe on Agent. Goldeneye has so much replay value just for getting faster times, I love it. You should try it. In fact i'm gonna go play it now....

Beat all of hongkong in Deus Ex in about 1 and a half hours.

A lot of ignoring and more blowing Maggie Chow up with a GEP gun.

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

I hated the Shadow Temple so much more than the Water Temple, the water temple was annoying, but it was just long and methodical. The shadow temple was just stupid.

Damn fish, what kind of simpleton game were you playing that has names like "Shadow Temple and Water Temple", especially in the same game. Thats just... unoriginal.

I remember when I was really little I used to be able to beat one of the Super Mario games really fast. I knew all the little tube things to go down for time warps.

I could do the one where you throw the eggs at the dragons really fast, and I could beat the one where you have to chase the ships around really fast. I don't know my times, though. :(
2006-01-07, 2:54 PM #40
I got to level 126 in about 10 minutes in Asheron's Call. Then they took out the XP lever.
