blade runner with narration

i'm looking for blade runner with the narration. i can't find anything but the directors cut and out of stock imports (that don't specify if they have narration or if they're even in english).
anyone know where i can get it online?

wait wait wait wait wait... while searching online i found a spoiler.
scott reveals in Y2K that deckard is a replicant
if you read the spoiler, did you know that already? i didn't.

Try amazon.com-- if a movie exists, they probably have it. If you can get it used, so much the better, b/c it costs a WHOLE lot less. (example: I just bought the matrix dvd for $1.99.)

The problem is that the only version of Blade Runner still in release is the "Director's Cut".

I know my friend has the original cut on VHS, but I don’t know if it was ever released on DVD.

From what I understand, the non-director's cut is hard to come by. Good luck finding a copy! (sorry I can't be helpful)

I've got the original on VHS too. To be honest, it's not as good as the DC (but obviously you wouldn't be asking for it if you didn't want it).

The theatrical cut has never been released on DVD. Maybe when the Special Edition finally gets the go-ahead, it'll contain both versions of the film, but don't hold your breath.

The Special Edition? Is that the version where Deckard gets replaced with a bunch of dancing Ewoks?
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Well then it seems the trick is to get a new vcr! :)

Can I ask why you want the theatrical version?

Wait, what? Deckard is a replicant?! That makes all sorts of nonsense.

Next thing you know, they'll say that the Chinese guy's a replicant. Then the creator.

Actually, there are a number of people who prefer the Theatrical version to the directors cut.

Yeah the Narration was poorly done, but I think the theme was a bit stronger, and I liked the ending better…

That said, seeing as I have not watched the Theatrical version in a long time, I’m probably just deluding myself.

I need to go back and watch both after having read “Do Androids dream of electric sheep”…

The original makes less sense - they pulled the dream sequence with the unicorn (which relates to the unicorn Gaff leaves for deckard - showing Gaff knows what deckard dreams, the same way deckard knows rachel's memories because deckard is a .... well, you know..) because it was deemed "too arty" by test audiences.

Rubbish

i personally liked the narration. and after much searching around and reading, i realize i haven't seen the full directors cut. i realized it today while talking to my mom about it. i've never watched the full directors cut all the way through. i guess i'll have to.

and as far as the theatrical version on dvd, from everything i've read so far, it ain't gonna happen.

Talk about a blast from the past.. I haven't seen a laserdisc in years. :)

Those things stored data in analog form instead of digital IIRC.

That actually made quite a lot of sense and I did assume it. Or at least it did make sense in the book. But the book went way further into detail and story than the film did.

What the-

I always read the book like Deckard thought he was a replicant and then he wasn't and then he was...n't? Damn. I don't remember.

When I first saw the Director's Cut years back, it didn't actually click with me that the narration was missing until right near the end. I suppose that speaks for itself, it was a completely unnecessary addition.
