Guys, I am in need of some Software help.

Basically, I have lost my CD 3 of my WoW set, and have a freshly formatted comp.
I tried to download the trial client off of Fileplanet, but it is always corrupted, and I can't access it.

Does anybody know where I can download the client without it being corrupted?

no friends to borrow it from?

If you have no friends and can't get your hands on a working trial, the other alternatives are either to contact Blizzard with a proof of purchase, or get a version off a piracy website. Oh god. I said piracy. Anyways, I've seen the game on some of those websites countless of time. Will it work? I can't guarantee it, I don't know what they cut out of those downloads. But there is a chance. :)

Admins, don't ban me, I'm not encouraging him to pirate the game, he already has it. Its only a solution to his problem.

Hope this helps.

A pirated version wouldn't work because each CD key is specific to each account, so you have to have your own game for your own account.

Is the zip failing to extract?

Cause I noticed back in beta, as well as when I downloaded it during retail once, winrar would fail to extract it, as if it were corrupted, but I used WinZip both times, and it actually worked. So I'd say try another unzipping program before dismissing it as corrupt, WinZip would probably be the best bet, as much as I hate that program.

I think you're confused. He is trying to get the client software so he can reinstall the game. He already has an account so getting a "pirated copy" of the game would still work.

Oh man, there was a thread a while ago that had the client for download. Can't find it.

You COULD download the client from blizzard by signing up for those free 12 days.

You can download the 10 day trial (which is the entire game) legally, then on the site login and put in your cd key. You should be set to play (after a long download time :( )

Guild Wars has some very bad clipping issues :X

I started the game the other day, made a warrior with long hair, and his head was poking out the back of his hair.... that was just pathetic.

Thus ended my interest in any mmorpg. Too many god damn bugs in any of em

I never notice any bugs like that. Sounds to me like its a problem with your video card or driver settings.

doesn't warrent a new thread, so ill steal the spotlight for a second here since its a wow thread.

WOOT WOOT dinged to 40 last night. I love my new pony. No more mind boggling slow walking across maps or whatever. I also realized I hadn't trained skills since I was like 30 so I have even less gold now, spent a good nother 20 gold on training >< after 18 for horse riding and even more for the pony itself. I have all of like 5 gold now :(

I suck at being the best of the best at most games. I tend to just play them for fun. I'm ok with a negative KDR in CSS. I don't mind not winning against a zerg rush in starcraft. I don't level for PVP in Diablo 2. WoW, in general, I just play to have fun.

HOWEVER: Gold is a LOT easier to get than the majority of people make it out to be.

With my warlock, due to my massive container size, I was able to collect expensive parts/drops of creatures and sell them over time to generate a good 7-9 gold before level 12. I told this to some people and they were BLOWN away. I didn't understand why that was so amazing. I did this within the 12 day trial, as well.

Gold is NOT difficult to accumulate AT ALL.

I NEVER had that issue with guild wars... ever. I've built MANY types of characters, too.

Try saying that when you got to pay for both spells, repairs, craft professions, and get a mount. Thankfully you rolled a warlock so you'll get a free mount at 40 but the 60 epic mount will still cost you about 300-400 gold.

But it's easier than a lot of people think, or let on. Yes, there are some higher expenses in the later game, but loot price goes up later in the game too, I'm assuming. Basically, I'm saying that accumulating gold isn't at all a difficult thing. At all.

Money doesn't scale as well as one would think. The only people that can make lots of money are those that have 2 gathering professions. Having a crafting profession costs more money to make than it does to sell them. Items needed for crafting towards the end game can be hard or mind-numbingly boring as hell to gather in order to make the really good crafting goods. For someone that really wants to make money in this game and not care about getting new equipment through crafting should just focus on gathering professions.

Of course, you'll never make a lot of money if you don't take the time to farm the crap out of mobs (whether in the world on running a dungeon like SM a thousand times). If your idea of farming a group of mobs for 2-3 hours non-stop is fun, then by all means, have fun. I certainly don't like it and because of that, I never had much fun trying to make money in WoW. Don't get me wrong - I don't disagree with you on how easy money is to make in this game. It just so horribly boring to do it.
