I'm sitting here. Can't sleep. I don't have money. I don't have cigarettes. My girlfriend wants me to stop smoking. I have only smoked one today. I could really use one right now.

I don't know what is more sad, I am craving a smoke, or the fact that I don't have four dollars to go buy a pack.

Just quit smoking... you'll save money, your food will taste better, your teeth will last longer (or at least stay whiter), and you wont have to worry about going outside to have a smoke when you go to certain places.

Plus all that crap about cancer and breathing easier and stuff...

See, that's the thing. I did quit smoking. I quit for about a month. I had no problems dealing with it after the first few days.

Then I thought to myself "you know... I really like smoking."

It won't be a problem here in a few days. I won't feel like I need to smoke anymore... But I'll still feel like doing it every now and then.

Yeah, but the thing is... the patch and the nicotine gum involve the act of not smoking.... So **** 'em both. If I had the patch, I would roll turkish into it and smoke it.

Isn't the best way to beat an addiction is to have smaller and smaller amounts of whatever you are addicted to over a period of time? Is it best to stop it entirely in one moment?

I know a guy who quit smoking and he told me that the key to quitting is to want to succeed badly enough. Just quit cold turkey and just deal with it. You're going to feel like s*** for a few days, but he told me that after the first week the hard part is over.

I believe I stated that I quit for around a month. I didn't feel any better than when I was smoking. I have serious stress issues that cause me to not be able to breathe... It has happened all my life. The only time I have actually been able to breathe, is when I'm smoking.

as far as what page said, its not even a week, its the first three days, those are hell, i quit for a week or so, then i realised that as far as things went, the pleasure of smoking is worth the cancer.

Smoking is awesome. But I don't like cancer, so I don't do it.

Seriously, it's a great buzz. The only time I do it is when I'm stupid ****ed up though, makes the experience so much better.

Last time I did it was on New Year's Eve--if you ever do ecstacy buy a pack of menthols. They make you feel deliciously amazing.

Honestly, if you really quit then decided you actually LIKE smoking and wern't just addicted, then smoke. It's your body and it's a free country. Don't let a bunch of people on a message board tell you not to smoke if it is something you actually enjoy. But make sure it isn't just the addication talking, otherwise you may feel better when you get over it, otherwise, go for it.

My dad had cancer. It should not be acceptable. You might die young, but you definitely won't die happy. And, it's going to cost you and your family a lot of money to try and stop the cancer.

A friend of mine was killed in a car crash four years ago. She was hit from the side by a utility truck. The Snowplow mount on the front of the truck literally ripped half of her head off. Somehow that sounds worse to me that "my lung cells got hungry because of my smoking... so you know... they ate my lungs." Ban driving.
